Scope: The HR Business Partner will provide support to our corporate functions

Schedule: Monday/Friday Remote & Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday In office

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develops effective relationships with business partners including coaching and mentoring leading to support their needs in a manner consistent with overall Company and functional objectives.
  • Coaches and counsels’ leaders on tactical issues and sensitive associate relations issues challenging when necessary. Assists in the evaluation of current team members identifying areas of training, coaching and development needs.
  • Understands associate population and how HR can provide value added services. Ensures the effective implementation of HR plans, projects and programs to positively impact the results of their assigned locations,
  • Manages and resolves complex associate relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations. Knows when to raise the awareness to the next level.
  • Responsible for the delivery of HR support to corporate functions, associates and leadership teams, including performance management, associate relations, communication planning, talent assessment (both new hires and current associates), coaching and facilitation.
  • Provides corporate support regarding the Company’s compensation and benefits practices. Ensures internal equity and that compensation practices are market competitive.
  • Act as liaison between functional leaders, HR leadership, and HR specialist functions.
  • Promotes solid associate relations using various tools and by connecting with associates virtually or in person to monitor associate relations health. Proactively identifies issues and concerns and creates/implements corrective plans of action.
  • Coordinates and conducts effective training programs as directed. Identifies training and development needs of associates supported.
  • Supports and promotes the Company’s Diversity initiatives at assigned facility/facilities and ensures compliance.
  • Reinforces difficult decisions or direction that align with the organizational strategies and values helping associates with change management as needed.
  • Understands and demonstrates Essendant’s Values and Guiding Principles.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to comprehend, interpret, and apply the appropriate sections of applicable laws, guidelines, regulations, ordinances, and policies.
  • Ability to acquire a thorough understanding of the organization's hierarchy, jobs, qualifications, compensation practices, and the administrative practices related to those factors.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or related experience preferred.
  • Three plus years of Human Resources experience required.
