Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Actively support the Honor Foods (OneBurris Culture) on a daily basis
- Interact in a cooperative and professional manner with other team members, supervisors, customers and vendors even in difficult situations
- Promote exceptional (WOW) Customer Service by building and maintaining effective communication with team members and internal and external vendors and customers
- Administer recruitment and selection processes to ensure in hiring of high caliber team members
- Assisting in training and coaching hiring teams and hiring panels
- Source candidates for open and pipeline positions (maintain applicant tracking system)
- Proactively and consistently recruit to maintain a pipeline of viable
- Manage new hire process including: ○ Background Checks ○ Employment verifications (as required) ○ License verification (as required) ○ Physicals ○ Any position specific pre-employment process
- Follow up with new hires after 1-2 weeks, then after 30/60/90 days
- Knowledge of all internal Human Resource related policies, practices, and systems to ensure legal and good business practice compliance
- Manage bi-weekly payroll process. This process includes reviewing timecards, providing payroll updates and ensuring that all employees are paid accurately. ○ Stay up to date with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations and ensure compliance in all payroll activities
- Scan and electronically file all human resources related documents in a timely manner
- Interact effectively and in a positive manner with team members
- Assure fairness and consistency
- Recommend and administer recognition programs, announcements and awards for outstanding performance
- Other duties as assigned
- BA degree in Human Resources or related field
- 2-3 years of practical experience in Human Resources, preferably in a distribution environment
- Strong written and oral communication and organizational skills
- Excellent computer skills
- Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources
- Ability to maintain and ensure confidentiality of team member and company information
- Strong communications skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to effectively promote Burris culture and think strategically
- Highly organized, proactive, goal-oriented and approachable
- Accuracy and attention to detail
- Knowledge of Human Resources and Payroll computer software and applications (experience with Ceridian Dayforce is a plus)
