Position: Human Resources Generalist
Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department. You will be responsible for administering the safety program, overseeing hiring practices, guiding managers and office administrators, administering benefits, leaves, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution to support our employees and foster a positive work environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Requires the use of supportive footwear and hair restraints when in the store. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. The employee frequently is required to talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach above shoulders; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus.

Position: Human Resources Generalist
Job Summary:
The Human Resource Generalist will run the daily functions of the Human Resource (HR) department. You will be responsible for administering the safety program, overseeing hiring practices, guiding managers and office administrators, administering benefits, leaves, and enforcing company policies and practices. This role requires a blend of strategic thinking and hands-on execution to support our employees and foster a positive work environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Managing worker compensation cases: Compile and investigate accident/incident reports from all locations; reports accidents/incidents to insurance carrier and collaborates closely with the adjuster and the managers to ensure all required documents and supporting materials are included.
- Regularly review and updates safety policies and procedures.
- Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training. This may include safety training, anti-harassment, and bystander training
- Maintains the integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality of colleague’s files, both paper and electronic. Requests missing information from locations and departments, as necessary. Assist in updating and maintaining the colleague’s handbook and HR forms.
- Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings
- Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to benefits, and leaves: advising colleagues on Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), unemployment claims; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations
- Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff
- Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations
- Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate

- Ability to work independently, multitask, and prioritize.
- Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software
- Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems
- Bilingual in Spanish is required
- Associate’s degree or equivalent experience
- At least one year of human resource management experience preferred
- SHRM-CP a plus
