The Role

JOB DESCRIPTION: The Human Resources Intern will serve as a vital support mechanism to the entire Human resource team. This role will serve as the day-to-day administrative and tactical duties in all human resources functional services including but not limited to employee relations, leave of absence, benefits, recruitment, performance management, training and development.

Job Duties

  • Supporting day-to-day administration of human resource tasks with direction from the Sr. Director of Human Resources.
  • Perform clerical duties: create and maintain reports, etc. in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Administer, triage, and monitor human resources email alias, inquiries, disciplines, exit interviews, and terminations.
  • Assist with updating and communicating company policies, procedures, and initiatives.
  • Maintain and update all personnel files in accordance with state and federal laws.
  • Submit and Process Subpoenas
  • Assist with internal and external HR related inquiries or requests.
  • Assist with performance management procedures.
  • Assist with payroll and human resources ad hoc projects.
  • New Hire Navex Scheduling and training.
  • Schedule and Track 30,60,90s evaluations accordingly.
  • Review and approve attendance and disciplines to also support enterprise.
  • Review and analyze Kronos reports as required.
  • Understand end to end process of ER Cases across the enterprise.
  • Support in assisting customers and employees with questions or issues.
  • Assist with orientations and update records of new staff.
  • Conduct Quarterly File, Kronos, and I9 Audits
  • Contingent Workers audit, clean up, and support satellite locations.
  • Assist with companywide trainings, compliance, and Targeted Training Gaps
  • Coordination of employee engagement activities.
  • Support execution of full cycle recruiting.
  • Assist with quality check of employee new hire paperwork as required.
  • Processing of benefit and leave documentation.
  • Assist with verification of coverage (L-564 Medicare) Forms
  • Provide front desk support as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Explain company personnel policies, benefits, and procedures to employees or job applicants.
  • Triage Benefit questions and inquiries.
  • Participate in organizing company events i.e., Employee Appreciation Day, People Day, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills And Abilities

  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Skills in database management and record keeping.
  • High degree of professional ethics and sense of fairness
  • Proficiency in or knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
  • Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented.
  • Ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand.
  • Good to excellent grammar and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials.
  • Establishing priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Ability to work with individuals at all levels.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bilingual- Fluent in Spanish, ability to read, write and speak.
  • Associate degree and/or 2+ years of experience in Human Resources
  • Administrative experience within Human Resources Management or a similar field would be a plus.
  • Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of labor laws
  • Familiarity of full cycle recruiting process

Physical Demands

  • May be required to sit or stand for an extended period of time during work period.
  • May be required to package items, lift and carry boxes up to 20 lbs.

Hours & Workdays

1 st Shift (8:00am 5:00pm) Monday through Friday, when business requires overtime and weekends will be mandatory.
