Job Summary

The Human Resources Intern in the People & Culture Department will provide essential logistical, administrative, and general support to the team, focusing on team projects, reporting, and recruitment. This role demands adept research, communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to assist with various HR functions related to the employee life cycle. The intern will regularly interact with Miller Kaplan employees, leaders, and external vendors, contributing operationally to the recruitment and Human Resources processes and strategies.

This is a paid internship, a temporary part-time position with a duration of three to six months, with the possibility of extension or full-time hire based on performance and business needs. This is a hybrid role but will consider a flexible schedule to accommodate academic commitments.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Perform a broad range of HR and Administrative duties in support of the People & Culture team.
  • Maintain various tracking documents for internal and external People & Culture initiatives.
  • Assist in HR & Recruiting reporting and data analysis.
  • Interact with outside vendors and organizations on the facilitation of various activities and projects.
  • Support the logistics and execution of programs, processes, and various recruitment activities that align with our diversity recruitment strategy, including but not limited to internship programs and meet & greets.
  • Support cultural programs and events, newsletters, and other communications via email or internal intranet.
  • Support the interview scheduling process and communicate logistics to both candidates and hiring teams.
  • Represent and promote organization to potential applicants by providing information and responding to questions.
  • Suggest new ideas for improving recruitment process and engagement by conducting research on various HR & DEI topics.
  • Support new hire orientation and office tours to help support the onboarding process.
  • Demonstrate behaviors and champion company culture essentials, mission, vision, and values.
  • Manage various administrative duties, including but not limited to photocopying, filing, scanning, faxing, and printing, etc.
  • Assist with miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
  • Strong project management skills, including attention to detail, balancing multiple tasks, speed to completion, overseeing timely and high-quality work, and anticipating future needs.

Required

Education and Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field or at least one (1) years’ experience in Human Resource or relevant HR experience.

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s Degree or High School Diploma with at least one (1) year of experience in a professional working environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.
