Position Summary
The Human Resources Intern is responsible for providing assistance to the HR Team in day-to-day operations. Assistance includes supporting the HR Team as it relates to employment (onboarding, LOA, terminations), benefits, and policies/practices.
Job Responsibilities
Responding to staff inquiries regarding HR policies, employee benefits, and other HR-related matters.
Creates, maintains, and updates records related to employee information such as personal data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination date and reason.
Gathers necessary documentation for personnel actions and provides information for payroll and other uses.
May assist with the completion of employment verifications, background investigations, employee action reports, and termination reports.
Generate reports through various reporting systems and track various human resources actions.
Assists and manage administrative needs as they relate to HR-related meetings, training, conference room scheduling and set-up when needed.
Ensures compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
Position Requirements/Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in human resource management or studying toward a degree in human resource management or related field.
Exceptional oral and written business communication.
Ethical and responsible with regards to moral and legal compliance.
Team partnership and collaborative work efforts.
Working knowledge of MS Office or database systems, HRIS and ATS.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Able to manage and handle multiple tasks.
Outstanding problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
Casual office environment.
