Human Resources Manager

Peirone Produce is currently looking for an experienced onsite Human Resources Manager to join our team. The Human Resources Manager will plan, direct, develop, and coordinate the policies, employee engagement activities, and HR processes. Reporting directly to the Company’s President, this position supervises two direct reports who together set the tone for the organization’s overall HR strategy that creates the best possible working environment for our valued employees.


Essential Responsibilities:

  1. Consistent and reliable onsite attendance during core business hours.
  2. Spearhead the HR team processes, driving them to new heights of efficiency & effectiveness.
  3. Be a trusted advisor to the Company's senior leadership, who:
  • Exhibits integrity.
  • Functions as the expert on people and organizational issues.
  • Provides guidance on managing complex and sometimes sensitive employee relation matters.
  1. Oversee the Payroll Specialist’s bi-weekly payroll processing via Paylocity HRIS platform, including:
  • Child Support & Garnishments
  • Union Dues
  • Union Pension and Health & Welfare Premiums
  1. Manage Leave and the Self-Insured Workers Comp Program:
  • Manage FMLA, WA Leave, Military Leave
  • Manage Light Duty Return-To-Work Program.
  • Work with Director of Safety on Incident reporting.
  1. Reimagine the recruiting process to compete and win the best talent for our Company!
  2. Develop engaging internal employee communications and manage employee feedback through such avenues as scheduled meetings, suggestion programs, employee satisfaction surveys, and performance reviews.
  3. Maintain the digital Employee Handbook with recommendations on policies that align with the Company operations and enhance the desired workplace culture environment.
  4. Field inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors with lightning-fast responsiveness and a personal touch, leaving a lasting impression of excellence and care!
  5. Manage the execution of employee engagement activities including internal Learning/Development Programs & employee recognition programs.
  6. Elevate employee performance evaluations to a thrilling new level, fostering a culture of excellence and achievement.
  7. Develop processes to streamline the onboarding & off boarding experiences.
  8. Provide mentoring and coaching to employees on various topics.


Desired Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Minimum 6-years progressive experience in Human Resources & Payroll with strong working knowledge of employment laws, and WA regulations.
  2. Minimum 3-years’ experience in supervising employees
  3. Superior interpersonal and mentorship skills with proven examples
  4. Bachelor’s degree preferred or an equivalent combination of education & experience.
  5. Demonstrated ability to communicate, present, & influence others credibly and effectively at all levels of an organization.
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop strong collaborative relationships to gain support and achieve goals.
  7. Comprehensive knowledge and working experience with compliance regulations and requirements.
  8. Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
  9. SPHR/PHR, or SHRM-CP certification required.
  10. Paylocity experience, or another cloud based HRIS system a plus.
  11. Union environment experience is a plus!

  • Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000 DOE, plus the following significant health & welfare benefits:
