JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE: The HyFlex Teacher serves as a classroom leader who collaborates and plans with the classroom facilitator. They will support students by providing learning activities and experiences in their content area. The HyFlex Teacher delivers instruction to 2 classes at the same time with the support of the classroom facilitators and works with small groups to provide intervention. They work intimately with the classroom facilitator in order to make sure students are on track to meet school targets and master standards. Building a positive rapport with classroom facilitators and other colleagues is critical in the role along with success in getting positive results for students through curriculum, instruction, and assessment. Success in the role is exhibited through student academic growth and increased teacher effectiveness as measured by the performance of students.

Minimum Qualifications

  • All candidates must possess a valid Missouri professional teaching certificate
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree with emphasis in the educational subject area
  • Strong belief that all students can learn at high levels
  • Experience adapting to and meeting the social/emotional needs of all children
  • Proven experience to accelerate student academic and learning performance
  • Knowledgeable best practices
  • Knowledgeable of Missouri Learning Standards and instructional shifts in education.
  • Must be a learner.
  • Proven experience in collecting and analyzing student performance data to inform instructional decisions that accelerate learning.
  • Understanding of anti-racist standards.
  • Training and or experience with Culturally Relevant Education (preferred).
  • High level of integrity and commitment to fostering a safe and inclusive school environment.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Support the lesson development process and plan with classroom facilitators weekly on lessons and instruction.
  • Engage students in high quality instruction.
  • Stay informed of and comply with state, distinct, and school regulations, policies for classroom teachers.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with colleagues , students, parents and community members.
  • Conduct subject-matter assessments.
  • Take part in professional development.
  • Provide feedback to students.
  • Attend parent conferences.
  • Ensure that students are at all times engaging in rigorous instruction.
  • Support and create a structured and responsive classroom culture.
  • Monitor and assess students’ performance.
  • Identify growth opportunities in instruction.
  • Work collaboratively with the teacher and special education staff to meet the IEP expectations for students.
  • Recommend and implement solutions in a timely manner.
  • Build smooth and efficient working relations that directly impact student achievement.
  • Work closely and efficiently with the teacher, students and parents.
  • Use technology to strengthen the teaching/learning process.
  • Manage student behavior in accordance with the Student Expectation Code.
  • Participate in professional learning communities and department chair meetings to ensure student success.
  • Maintain a positive learning environment.
