I am working with a rapidly expanding fintech firm, specializing in electronic money market trading and technological solutions for top-tier global financial institutions, who are looking for an additional attorney to join their New York office. This role will be essential in enhancing and expanding the company's legal capabilities as they continue to grow internationally.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide daily legal guidance on various topics, including confidentiality, data privacy, regulatory matters, employment law, intellectual property, general commercial issues, and risk management.
- Review, draft, and negotiate a wide array of commercial agreements, such as NDAs, software licensing, SaaS agreements, service agreements, consulting contracts, technology licenses, and other operational documents.
- Handle legal aspects related to U.S. broker-dealer operations and regulatory approvals for the company’s expansion into new global markets.
- Collaborate closely with senior management to align legal strategies with the organization’s business objectives.
- Offer strategic advice on risk assessment and mitigation.
Qualifications:
- Strong academic background and active admission to the New York Bar, or eligibility for registered in-house counsel status.
- Prior experience in a law firm or in-house legal team, ideally within the financial or technology sectors; experience with broker-dealers and data privacy regulations is a plus.
- Proficiency in contract drafting and analysis, with a proven ability to navigate complex legal issues.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent time management and organizational abilities, with the capacity to work independently.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong aptitude for building relationships.
- Technically proficient and self-driven with a focus on achieving results.
- Positive, enthusiastic, and proactive approach to work.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated legal professional to make a significant impact within a dynamic and growing company.
