Information Technology Support Specialist

IPC is seeking an IT Support Specialist to provide desktop support to internal and external IPC users, contracted partners, and vendors. Perform a variety of system administrational duties including the creation of user and service accounts, acquisition of software licenses, and managing access to various applications. Provide timely solutions to support business decisions.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain and administer computer and IT equipment, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, printers, and all configurations.
  • Learn, manage, and troubleshoot IT services such as, but not limited to O365, Exchange, MS Teams, VOIP System, Endpoint Management, etc.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose desktop problems, take corrective action, implement permanent solutions, and provide technical assistance to end-user staff
  • Design, configure, and test physical and virtual desktop hardware and software.
  • Gather data about customer needs, and use the information to identify, predict, interpret, and evaluate user requirements.
  • Recommend changes to improve systems and determine hardware or software requirements related to such changes.
  • Develop standards and guidelines to guide the support, maintenance, and use of desktop hardware and software.
  • Monitor network and systems performance to determine whether adjustments are needed and to determine where changes will be required in the future.
  • Maintain proper control records.
  • All duties as reasonably assigned.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to work in an environment that follows ITIL methodologies for opening, documenting, and closing support tickets, problem tickets, change orders, etc.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Should be self-motivated, goal-orientated, quality-driven, and capable of working independently with little supervision.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities and with multiple disciplines


Qualifications and Experience

  • Ability to work in an environment that follows ITIL methodologies for opening, documenting, and closing support tickets.
  • Strong proficiency in the following technologies:
  • Desktop Hardware – HP laptops and desktops
  • Windows 10 Enterprise running in an AD environment
  • VMware Workstation
  • Antivirus software
  • Administration of O365 and Exchange 2010
  • Networking – Understanding basic networking to aid in troubleshooting
  • Security – Basic VPN and Forescout administration
  • Applications – SharePoint, O365, and Exchange

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and filing cabinets. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly sitting for long periods. Hours of Operation

This is a full-time position. Standard office hours of Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST. This position may require additional work hours outside these work hours, including weekends to complete job requirements.
