BlueHalo is hiring an Infrastructure/Systems Administrator to support the Joint Navigation Warfare Center (JNWC) contract, you will be a part of our team’s efforts to empower the Department of Defense’s navigation warfare (NAVWAR) mission ensuring positioning, navigation and timing superiority. Our mission is to provide combatant commanders and joint force commanders with subject matter expertise on planning and conducting NAVWAR by providing knowledge of friendly and enemy NAVWAR Order of Battle and PNT-related successes and threats.
In this role, you will support the DevOps team by providing routine OS, software, and application support, and track, version, deploy, and rollback database changes to production and development databases. You will be responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization, as well as providing documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new or upgraded IT infrastructure. Additionally, you will perform or delegate regular backup operations, implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures, and handle capacity and storage planning and database performance. Your responsibilities will also include configuring databases to meet cybersecurity requirements, ensuring regulatory compliance, and adhering to database best practices, automating and standardizing repetitive tasks with version-controlled scripts and procedures, and analyzing and writing complex queries to support gathering metrics, troubleshooting application issues, and diagnosing performance issues. You will work closely with members of the development, test, and operations teams to troubleshoot build breaks, enforce software quality standards, and deploy the application to non-production and production environments while managing and monitoring all installed systems and infrastructure.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field
- 3-7 years of relevant work experience
- Experience providing routine OS, software, and application support
- Proficiency in tracking, versioning, deploying, and rolling back database changes
- Strong knowledge of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization maintenance and configuration
- Ability to provide documentation and technical specifications for IT infrastructure planning and upgrades
- Experience in performing or delegating backup operations and implementing data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
- Expertise in capacity and storage planning and database performance management
- Ability to configure databases to meet cybersecurity requirements, ensure regulatory compliance, and adhere to database best practices
- Skill in automating and standardizing repetitive tasks with version-controlled scripts and procedures
- Proficiency in analyzing and writing complex queries for metrics gathering, troubleshooting application issues, and diagnosing performance issues
- Ability to work closely with development, test, and operations teams to troubleshoot build breaks, enforce software quality standards, and deploy applications to non-production and production environments
- Must have one of the following certifications (or equivalent):
- CompTIA Server+, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE)
- Must possess and maintain an active DoD TOP SECRET/SCI clearance
Preferred
- Prior leadership/management experience.
