USA Jet Power
In 2022, to support its fleet of jet engines and to allow it to provide services to other operators and leasing companies, USA Jet Airlines established USA Jet Power. USA Jet Power is 14 CFR Part 145 Air Agency Repair Station located in Oscoda Michigan authorized to perform maintenance, inspection and testing on Pratt and Whitney JT8D turbofan engines that are certificated to operate upon Boeing 727, 737, Douglas DC-9 and MD88 aircraft. USA Jet Power is housed in a state-of-the-art 51,000 sq ft facility that supports its engine repair operations and parts warehousing.

What You’ll Do
The Inspector determines engine airworthiness via visual and functional testing of the engine and its components. Inspectors are responsible to work in a safe and efficient manner eliminating waste and delivering a quality product on time. Inspectors shall ensure all maintenance performed conforms to USA Jet Power standards and that it complies with all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations. Inspectors report directly to the Lead Inspector and the Director of Quality.
Shall ensure that all preventive maintenance, repairs, and alterations on Powerplant, and Appliances are completed in accordance with applicable Maintenance Manuals, FAR’s and Company Policies and Procedures.
To approve individually the completeness, correctness and quality of all work performed including the accuracy of Powerplant Build Package entries and the accomplishment of approved data and engineering order requirements
Inspect modifications and/or repairs for safety workmanship and serviceability.
To reject all work, which does not meet manufacturer specifications, company or FAA regulations and report such rejections to the Lead Inspector and Director of Quality.
Inspect and/or conduct final operational check, testing, and troubleshooting of Powerplant systems.
Supervise mechanics where necessary and determination of adequacy for the work performed.
Maintain necessary records as required. Ensuring routine, non-routine, and all customer request work cards are correctly completed and properly signed off.
Sign off Powerplants and components as structurally and functionally complete.
Accomplish the final acceptance of all incoming material, including new parts, supplies, and the airworthiness of articles on which work has been processed.
Performing other duties as assigned by the Lead Inspector or Director of Quality.
What You’ll Bring
Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License preferred, Minimum Repairman’s certificate required.
Minimum of 3 years of Aviation Maintenance Technician experience on powerplants required or equivalent combination of education or experience.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
Capable of interpreting drawings, blueprints, Service Bulletins, Airworthiness Directives (AD) and any other related documents as required.
Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently
Be authorized to willingly act on behalf of the FAA 145 repair facility.
May be required to work off station and work overtime as assigned by the Lead Inspector.
Read, write, and understand the English language.
Ability to identify and resolve issues
Capability to creatively solve problems
Must be able to remain calm during adverse conditions and think and react quickly with a sense of urgency to time-sensitive problem situations.
Computer software knowledge of key Microsoft Office platforms including Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.

Additional Considerations
USA Jet Power, LLC. Aircraft/Engine Maintenance and Inspection personnel must be able to travel on short notice to perform maintenance and/or aircraft recovery/repairs as needed. This will require having an overnight bag always packed and being ready to travel with little or no notice, for indefinite periods of time.
As part of the above-referenced travel requirements and at the employee's expense, Aircraft Maintenance and Inspection Personnel must have or obtain a valid passport within 90 days of hire.
To be able to perform the job of an Aircraft Mechanic/Technician or Inspector, employees are required to possess the minimum tools as outlined on departmental tool list.
As part of the job responsibilities of an Engine Shop Mechanic, Technician, Inspector new hires will be required to complete the TSA Security Training Program, which is provided by the parent company USA Jet Airlines. Once personnel have successfully completed the training program, occasional travel may be required.
Must be able to successfully pass an initial, and random, Drug and Alcohol screening process as required by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), and a Fingerprint Based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and/or Security Threat Assessment (STA) as required by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
