FUNCTIONAL PURPOSE
The purpose of this position is to enhance the effectiveness of the educational process by the implementation and administration of instructional support.

The purpose of this position is to enhance the effectiveness of the educational process by the implementation and administration of instructional support.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Facilitates effective instruction delivery of the NC Standard Course of Study by coaching teachers with classroom management, pedagogy, and content knowledge.
- Leads teachers in focused academic conversations to improve classroom instruction and student learning.
- Organizes, analyzes, and reports district, school, and classroom data to promote student achievement.
- Prepares and facilitates weekly Professional Learning Teams (PLTs) through specific structured conversation protocols including resources, assessments, data, and evidence-based strategies to provide tiered academic and behavioral supports..
- Assists teachers in data analysis of student work that results in identification of students in needed of interventions then develops an action plan for corrective instruction.
- Assists in the coordination and administration of local assessments and K-2 state assessments.
- Leads professional development workshops and schedules outside professionals for content specific development including necessary attendance tracking for the district.
- Assists in purchasing decisions for curriculum resources.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
- Knowledge of curriculum development and classroom management.
- Basic knowledge of budgeting and maintaining fiscal responsibility.
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and independently with administrators, teachers, students, families, and community members.
- Ability to relate well to students and families from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
- Ability to utilize appropriate technology software (i.e. Microsoft Office, Google Docs, Forms, Mail and Spreadsheets), learning management system (i.e. Canvas) equipment and devises
- Demonstrated ability to organize, be self-directed and flexible.
- Skill in interpreting policy, procedures, and data to drive decisions related to student performance and program implementation.
- Demonstrated ability in presenting professional development.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion.
- Ability to understand how to use multiple sources of data to inform daily decisions to improve instructional practice and instill this practice in others.
- Skill in providing consultative services to school staff.
- Minimum: Bachelor’s Degree in education and three years of successful teaching experience.
- Desirable: Teaching experience with cultural, ethnic and language diversity and school-based leadership role. Experience as a mentor, grade level chair, and/or coach.
