INTERMEDIATE INTERIOR DESIGNER


Geremia Design, an AD100 interior design studio specializing in high-end residential work, is seeking an exceptionally creative and experienced full-time Intermediate Designer to join our San Francisco based team.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work under the direction of a Senior Designer to facilitate all aspects of the interior design process from concept to execution.


Among the many responsibilities (unique to each project) are the following:


DESIGN:

  • Research unique products, design details, specialty fabrication or points of interest.
  • Source from a vast array of resources, gathering samples and trade quotes.
  • Create 2-D and 3-D rendered elevations in Sketch-up and Photoshop.
  • Compile design collateral into digital whiteboards and presentations.
  • Enter items to purchase, create proposal drafts, and manage product budget in Studio Designer.
  • Develop design intent, study scale and update drawings in CAD.
  • Coordinate fabrication of custom items.


DOCUMENTATION / CONSTRUCTION ADMIN:

  • Create interior design drawing sets, including details, plans and elevations in CAD.
  • Create schedules of finishes and fixtures, tagged to drawings.
  • Answer RFI’s, submittals and red-line drawings.
  • Attend site visits, OAC calls, and capture meeting notes.


PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

  • Communicate workload, project timeline and updates both internally and externally.
  • Document meeting notes, project drawings, quotes, photos, receipts and other files in shared folders.
  • Review condition of items and assist with refinishing and/or repairs.
  • Prepare, schedule and budget for installations and photoshoots, including coordinating warehouse and specialty installers.
  • Contribute to the completion of projects on-time and within budget.


JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in interior architecture or interior design.


5 years of experience working in a highly creative residential interior design studio.


Fluency in AutoCAD, Sketch-Up, Enscape and Photoshop.


Knowledge of residential furnishings, interior finishes and resources.


Knowledge of interior design purchasing software such as Studio Designer.


Familiarity with building systems, local building codes and ADA requirements.


Proactive, with a strong initiative and creative problem-solving ability.


Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.


Highly organized with attention to detail and a strong sense of urgency.


Ability to work independently and as a team, always striving to facilitate communication and graciously providing a high level of service.


Must be available to work on site in San Francisco 3 days per week, and from home (within the Bay Area) 2 days per week.


Must have a valid CA driver’s license, the ability to lift 30 lbs, and be currently authorized to work in the United States.
