About The Opportunity

Hiring Range: $50,000 - $60,000

The Internal Auditor applies a systematic and disciplined approach to the effectiveness of risk management, controls, and governance processes. This role is part of the Corporate Internal Audit team that supports the internal audit cycles across the organization for effectiveness, reliability, and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations.

Essential Job Duties

  • Collaborate with process owners and members of management to understand key processes and controls (i.e., performing walkthroughs - design assessments).
  • Prepare clear, well-structured, and effective audit documentation explaining these walkthroughs (design assessments) using pre-existing templates that will describe the process while identifying the significant risk, processes, and key controls related to the process.
  • Determine the appropriate populations to adequately test the controls, request the populations, determine the appropriate sample size, select the sample, perform the test work, and document the results of the test work in the pre-existing templates.
  • Perform root cause analysis when exceptions are identified and work with process owners to implement remediation plans.
  • Critically review reports, data, workflows, procedures, and documentation.
  • Conduct follow-up on actions and interventions to address deficiencies.
  • Proactively manage audit schedule, including notifying the manager of timeline pressures and suggesting solutions.
  • Contribute to optimizing operational efficiency by identifying, suggesting solutions, and helping implement changes to control activities including streamlining and automating.
  • Identify and help implement efficiency-generating practices and governance in the Internal Control Testing Program.
  • Other duties and assignments as applicable to support business needs.

  • Excellent organization skills; ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks while working under deadlines.
  • Ability to consistently perform work independently with minimal supervision and work cooperatively with others to promote a positive team environment.
  • Proactive with great follow-up and follow-through
  • Good judgment in delivering results with assignments in the form of objectives.
  • Intermediate user of MS Office Suite applications, solid capability in general accounting systems, and ability to quickly adapt to new applications and systems.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain client required clearances as well as pass company regular background and/or drug screening.
  • Completion of Teleworker Agreement upon hire, and adherence to the Agreement (and related policies and procedures) including, but not limited to: able to navigate computer and phone systems as a user to work remote independently using on-line resources, must have high-speed internet connectivity, appropriate workspace able to be compliant with HIPAA, safety & ergonomics, confidentiality, and dedicated work focus without distractions during work hours.

Technical Skills

  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze large and complex data sets to identify anomalies, solve problems, document workflows, and perform other activities relating to the improvement of audit, operational, and management practices.
  • Experience and/or skillset related to joining and/or transforming various data sets.
  • Maintain complex data sets using various uploads methods (CSV upload, API connectors, etc.) with the ability to set up and transform data as necessary.
  • Develop automated tools that can facilitate the audit testing and validation process.
  • Experience and/or comfort working with large and complex data sets. Proficiency w/ SQL/Python preferred.
  • Knowledge with tools such as Tableau or other business intelligence software preferred.

Required And Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS) or a double major in Accounting/MIS is strongly preferred.
    • Minimum GPA of 3.0 (overall and in major)
  • Internship or other relevant experience preferred

Requirements
