Bryant Christie Inc. (BCI) is seeking a motivated individual for an international trade policy specialist position. The position will be based in BCI’s Seattle office.

 

The successful candidate’s primary responsibility will be to analyze differences between pesticide regulatory policy in the United States and trading partners around the world and how those differences affect agricultural exports. Policy research and analysis work would also touch on international agricultural trade policy issues such as tariffs and market access.  Candidates will be expected to interact with U.S. and foreign government officials, to report to clients, and to attend some in person domestic and international meetings. Knowledge of agricultural trade policy and a scientific background is not required, but a plus. 

 

Successful candidates will have outstanding organizational and interpersonal skills. They will be expected to work independently and think strategically in resolving challenging trade issues. Candidates will also be expected to research and accurately comprehend agricultural regulations in numerous export markets. This is a mid-level position that will support senior management and perform other duties as assigned.

 

Strong research, organizational, and writing skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated, accountable for their work, and able to simultaneously manage multiple projects. This is a salaried position that includes benefits. Salary range $70,000-$90,000 DOE. 

 

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in international affairs, political science, public policy, agricultural sciences, or related fields;
  • Strong research and writing skills;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Detail oriented; and
  • Intermediate level of MS Excel and handling databases.
