INTERPRETER/TRANSLATOR (SPANISH)

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provides professional interpretation and translation services on a contractual basis.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Facilitate effective communication between two parties that do not speak a similar language by

converting one spoken language to another.

  • Attend conferences, meetings, and hearings and act as official translator to mediate discussion.
  • Create a new text in the target language that reproduces the content and style of the original.
  • Edit and proofread text to accurately reflect language.
  • Receive and submit assignments electronically.
  • Facilitate communication for people with limited English proficiency.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in World Languages/Spanish or other related field preferred.
  • Certificate of completion of an ethical training provided by an accredited program.
  • Superior verbal and written multi-lingual skills.
  • Experience working with limited English proficient populations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
