Job Title: Inventory Planner
Roller Derby Skate Corp. is America’s Skate Company and has been the leader in manufacturing and distributing skate products for over 80 years. In fact, our founders invented the sport of Roller Derby back in 1922! Our skates are well designed for appearance and performance. Due to rapid growth, Roller Derby is looking for an Inventory Planner who will play an important role in ensuring that inventory is managed effectively to meet the needs of customers and optimize profitability.
***This position is office based in either Litchfield, IL or Atglen, PA.*** Candidate MUST be willing to work in one of these physical work locations. The Inventory Planner will report to the Vice President of Sales and work closely with the Product Development team to forecast and plan inventory to support planned sales.
Job Requirements Include:
- Use historical sales data from multiple sources and current trends to project required purchases from suppliers and weekly domestic shipments to customers.
- Produce regular analysis based on average daily sales, days on hand, demand and demand forecasting.
- Calculate forecasts by using historical data and trends for customers that do not provide a forecast.
- Ensuring that proper inventory levels are maintained by consistently reviewing weeks of supply and in-stock goals.
- Participate in the Review of End-of-Life Programs / determine path forward for slow turning product and obsolete inventory with Sales and Sourcing. Path forward could include selling or using items with the current customer, with a different customer, or disposal, or donation.
- Monitor inventory, spare parts, and spare packaging levels and immediately report low inventory.
- Calculate and investigate large variances between forecasts and demand. Evaluate existing supplier orders and identify potential revisions that would better support our desired inventory levels and the latest demand plans.
- Use various software platforms to analyze and predict future inventory needs.
- Work closely with the Vice President of Purchasing and Planning Team, to manage the flow of goods from the factory to our U.S. warehouse locations, and finally to the customer’s Distribution Center.
- Analyzing, identifying, and implementing opportunities for improvements to the forecasting process.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in inventory planning.
- Advanced Excel and analytical skills. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in these areas to be considered for this position.
- Ability to work with large amounts of data and create reports for Senior Management team.
- Knowledge of inventory models and metrics.
- Experience working with overseas suppliers preferred, but not required.
- Analytical, data driven approach with high attention to detail and follow-up.
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
- Desire to be part of a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a strong sense of urgency.
- Must be curious, intuitive, and proactive in their approach to identifying risks to the business.
- Experience with our ERP system, Epicor Prophet 21 recommended, but not required.
Education Requirements:
- High School Diploma required.
- College degree preferred but will accept relevant job experience.
- Computer skills should include proficiency in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
- Candidate should possess an above average proficiency in Excel, which includes the ability to utilize pivot tables and high-level Excel formulas.
- Must be willing to undergo a criminal background check.

Job Type: Full-time
Location: Litchfield, IL or Atglen, PA. ***This position is office based in either Litchfield, IL or Atglen, PA.*** Candidate MUST be willing to work in one of these physical work locations.
Salary: Range $65,000 to $70,000 based on experience. Opportunity to earn annual discretionary bonus.
