Job Description
As a Project Engineer you will focus on the engineering and deployment of products and services. These responsibilities include but are not limited to design evaluation, technical project scoping and quoting, equipment/service provisioning and configuration, documentation, troubleshooting, and technical operations. The right person will embrace technical challenges with creativity and must have an ability to act as a trusted advisor to our customers. The Project Engineer is known as an expert in their technical area, sought out by others and seen as a “lead engineer in their area of expertise”.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
As a Project Engineer you will focus on the engineering and deployment of products and services. These responsibilities include but are not limited to design evaluation, technical project scoping and quoting, equipment/service provisioning and configuration, documentation, troubleshooting, and technical operations. The right person will embrace technical challenges with creativity and must have an ability to act as a trusted advisor to our customers. The Project Engineer is known as an expert in their technical area, sought out by others and seen as a “lead engineer in their area of expertise”.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
- Provide technical consulting expertise and assistance to all Client Services teams
- Assess clients’ technology use and needs and recommend improvements, such as hardware and software upgrades, new technologies, and integrations
- Produce high quality managed service implementation outcomes that are sold to clients. Must be able to appropriately assess and develop migration plans for services sold.
- Perform managed service hardware/software/services component provisioning, configuration, and deployment of client computing infrastructure within Cloud/Hybrid Cloud, Data Center, or client sites
- Follow implementation guidelines, processes, and procedures to ensure service delivery standards and quality are upheld, customer satisfaction is achieved, and appropriate documentation is published for on-going customer supportability
- Contribute to improving workflows, toolsets, product offerings/technologies, and process automation
- Adhere to project scope, deliverables, real-time labor hour time entries and work performed documentation, proactive issues management, and timeline parameters
- Communicate promptly and effectively with project managers, clients, and internal staff to ensure expectations are set and current work effort and service deliverable(s) statuses and/or issues are known
- Stay current and abreast of industry technology advancements/changes to improve service portfolio and technical operations

- The ideal candidate may possess one or multiple industry technical certifications from IT-related vendors like Microsoft and VMware
- 3+ years as a system administrator or engineer responsible for Managed Service Provider (preferred) or Enterprise
- Demonstrates a level of competency with one or more of the following technologies, this included, provisioning, migrations, and support:
- Windows operating systems (primary focus on Windows 2012R2/2016/2019) and Active Directory
- Hyper-V, VMware vSphere v5.5 through v6.7, and storage arrays.
- Disaster recovery technology and data backup retention solutions
- Hosted Email and Collaboration; Cloud hosted Exchange and/or Microsoft 365 product suite, SPAM filtering and Archive solutions
- Network hardware and associated technologies with primary focus on switching fabric, routing protocols, wireless, redundancy/failover and cryptographic tunneling
- Ability to prioritize and be productive in a fast-paced environment
- Strong troubleshooting skills including the ability to identify and resolve challenging situations in a timely manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Outstanding service and response time working with clients
- Passion for learning technologies and curious for new ideas
- Flexibility to be available for scheduled night and weekend implementation projects when required
