General Summary

This position is responsible for providing intermediate level expertise and analysis for system selection, implementation, integration and support of business systems to ensure alignment with Information Technology (IT) initiatives and business strategy and needs as they relate to service management.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provide IT support for internal customers and IT staff to ensure critical business needs are met in relation to IT services and solutions.
  • Analyze business functional requirements into technical specifications to ensure appropriate deployment of changes that impact the end user.
  • Apply technical knowledge, skills and expertise in development and implementation methodologies to the system development lifecycle including unit testing and code review to ensure industry-established best practices are followed.
  • Collaborate with business analysts to evaluate the impact of system changes introduced by customizations, interfaces, bug fixes, updates and upgrades to ensure timely, effective and efficient delivery of corporate systems.
  • Ensure adequate communication is maintained regarding projects, changes, major incidents and other Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Processes and priorities so all invested parties are kept informed of progress.
  • Resolve escalated issues and work with other team members to ensure timely resolution of production issues.
  • Provide analysis around new changes, requirements or improvements to current systems to ensure efficient process handling.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of technical documentation to ensure IT operations processes are efficient and effective.
  • Participate in general housekeeping activities (i.e. service desk) to comply with IT operations ticket handling procedures.
  • Review system and application design and change documents to ensure efficient and effective handling.



Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences, Information Systems or related field desired

Work Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience with relevant software and development toolset
  • Experience with Microsoft products, Oracle, SQL and relational databases
  • Experience with Change and Release Management
  • Experience with multiple programming languages

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • Experience with or knowledge of ETL (data extraction, transformation, and load) methods and technologies
  • JD Edwards Enterprise Resource Planning System
  • Basic Knowledge of JD Edwards Report Writing Tool
  • Knowledge of ServiceNow basic operations
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent support and problem diagnosis skills
  • Strong desire to jump in and investigate issues, resolve problems, and communicate status
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills
  • Ability to complete projects in a team-oriented environment
  • Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
  • Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments
  • SQL debugging skills required
  • Working knowledge of BI tools and data warehouse concepts desired
  • Ability to work under high pressure

The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
