Are you passionate about evaluating and analyzing residential loan applications? We're looking for a dedicated Jumbo Underwriter to join our team! In this role, you'll ensure our loans meet all necessary guidelines and help mitigate risk, all while delivering outstanding customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Loan Document Analysis: Review and analyze loan documents, including AUS decision reports, credit reports, income sources (personal and business), assets, title reports, appraisals, purchase agreements, escrow instructions, and more. Ensure all documents are accurate and complete.
  • Tax Returns: Utilize your extensive knowledge of complex tax returns, including those involving multiple businesses and financed properties.
  • Guideline Management: Navigate multiple investor guidelines and have a strong understanding of Appendix Q.
  • Data Input: Enter loan data into DU/LP and run final AUS. Maintain quality and production standards as outlined by management.
  • Underwriting: Underwrite files and clear conditions with attention to detail and a sense of urgency. Ensure all data and decisions are accurately recorded in our operating system.
  • Compliance: Review transaction matrices, internal guidelines, and investor overlays to ensure compliance. Implement fraud detection techniques and request additional documentation as needed.
  • Risk Management: Identify and address risk factors that might affect the quality of the loan file.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with brokers, sales staff, and post-closing departments to resolve pre-funding or post-purchase loan deficiencies. Maintain consistent, positive communication with all parties involved.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: At least 4 years of recent underwriting experience with Conventional loan products. Must be up-to-date with current guidelines, policies, and procedures.
  • Skills: Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high quality. Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of FNMA/FHLMC and investor guidelines.
