Junior Automation Engineer

Join our client as a Junior Automation Engineer and contribute to energy security and transition.

Provide expertise in automation/control systems for facility upgrades, migrations, and maintenance at our client's liquids storage terminals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; advanced degree preferred
• 2-3 years in automation, instrumentation, and process controls (petrochemical, refining, oil & gas preferred)
• Experience with Emerson DeltaV DCS system
• Knowledge of industrial automation standards and codes (ISA 88, IEC61511, NEC)
• Familiarity with Tank Gauging Systems is a plus
• Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental principles
• Excellent English communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 20%

Responsibilities

• Follow safety procedures and participate in safety training
• Provide automation/control systems expertise
• Coordinate technical matters between terminals and stakeholders
• Support automation systems maintenance and lifecycle management
• Troubleshoot and analyze complex problems
• Develop control system documentation (diagrams, schedules, narratives)
• Participate in HAZOP/PHA activities
• Ensure automation designs meet terminal needs and standards
• Support project scope preparation and vendor management
• Review project documents for consistency with standards
• Deliver technical and management presentations
