Overview
As a Junior Brand Designer at Copper Co., you will play a crucial role in developing user experiences and visual assets for a new class of appliances that make home electrification simple, affordable, and lovable. You will collaborate with our technical and marketing teams throughout the entire product launch lifecycle, from concept to production. This hands-on role requires close collaboration with internal and external teams to usher designs from concept to launch.

This is a full-time position and it is expected to be in-office 4 days per week with 1 day flexible for in-office or remote work. Our office is located in Berkeley, CA.
What You'll Do
The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $90,000 per year. We are committed to equitable compensation, and we offer a generous benefits package to make sure you have the support you need. We cover 100% of the premiums for our employees and 50% of the premiums for their dependents on our base plans for medical, dental, and vision insurance. We offer a 401(k) plan for employees to contribute to, in addition to many other benefits. Every employee, regardless of gender identity or expression, is eligible for 16 weeks of paid parental leave after three months of employment (eight weeks through Copper and eight weeks CA Paid Family Leave).

What You'll Do
- Develop beautiful compositions and visual assets based on evolving brand guidelines
- Identify and implement opportunities for product improvement in UX and visual design
- Translate UX wireframes for Copper products and services into pixel perfect visual assets
- Work with Engineering to ensure that designs can be implemented effectively in code
- Champion accessibility in product interactions
- Contribute to art direction for photography and act as our occasional in-house photographer for non-critical assets
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in a design related discipline or equivalent experience
- 3+ years of experience working as a professional designer
- Demonstrated expertise in UX and visual design
- Strong collaborator with attention to detail, organization, and decision-making skills
- Ability to function independently with a bias towards action
- Strong knowledge of visual design best practices
- Include a link to your website or a PDF of your portfolio
- Familiarity with motion graphics
- Experience tying digital and physical experiences together
- Photography experience
