Supportable began from an idea to improve how Human and Social Services businesses operate. After 30+ years of experience providing services to individuals in the Mental Health, Behavioral Health, Human Services, Assisted Living, and Substance Use industry, we kept searching for but never found an existing solution to help us organize our admissions & intake operations. So we created our own!

As an extension of a larger company, we expanded and developed the software that would solve this problem.

We have an exciting role available at Supportable for a Junior Full Stack Developer! This is a full time position, with the opportunity to work at home. There will be times when the Developer will need to attend on-site meetings in Burnsville, MN, so local candidates are required.

The role of the Junior Full-Stack Developer is to build high-quality, innovative, and fully performing software that complies with modern coding standards and technical design. This position executes the full lifecycle of software development, from gathering and organizing requirements to proper quality assurance testing and deployment. The Junior Full-Stack Developer executes projects to fulfill the company strategic plan and product roadmap as well as address product defects. This position is responsible for staying informed of technological trends and changes to maintain technical standards of existing software and ensure Supportable products remain modern and competitive.

Your Role At Supportable Involves

Product Development

Duties

Planning and executing the annual, quarterly, and bi-weekly development goals for Supportable. Review upcoming project deadlines and plan work activities around those dates and other obligations throughout an average work schedule. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (designers, product managers, and other developers) to create responsive and user-friendly web applications.
  • Develop and maintain front-end interfaces using Supportable system frameworks.
  • Implement back-end functionality, including server-side logic, APIs, and database management.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code.
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Troubleshoot and debug issues across the full stack.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
  • Conducting necessary research of new technologies to make project recommendations before adoption and implementation.
  • Proper commenting and documentation of code and methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Agile and Scrum methodologies

Product Maintenance

Ensure the continued quality of existing Supportable products and services. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring system performance and performing predictive maintenance.
  • Analyzing existing systems to provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Coordinating with external vendors as necessary to ensure proper implementation of observations and fixes to issues.
  • Responding to and fixing customer concerns and reported bugs in a timely manner while adhering to company customer service standards.
  • Documenting fixes to ensure proper historical record of products.

Front-end Technologies

The Junior Full Stack Developer must possess technical skills and interpersonal skills and effectively communicate with team members to test and debug software through to deployment. To excel in this role, one must be inquisitive, curious, and have excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. This position also requires the following knowledge and skills:

Back-end Technologies

  • C#

Familiarity With Software And Development Tools

  • Visual Studio 2022
  • Visual Studio Code
  • Postman
  • MongoDB Compass*
  • MongoDB Atlas*
  • Microsoft SharePoint
  • Zoho Desk
  • Figma

Experience with version control systems like Microsoft Azure DevOps.

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Ability to work autonomously, including the ability to identify and solve issues independently.

Nice-to-Have

  • Experience developing extensions for Google Chrome
  • Knowledge of cloud services (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).

Education And Work Experience Requirements

  • A degree in computer science or programming is preferred but not required. Applicable certifications and demonstrated skill and experience are equally considered.
  • Experience in Angular.js, .NET Framework, and Mongo developer tools required.

Supportable will conduct a Minnesota Department of Human Services Background Study on all new employees. Employees in driving positions will also be subject to a Motor Vehicle Background check. Continued employment will be contingent on a cleared background study and a satisfactory MVR.
