The Korea Society invites applications for adjunct Korean language instructors interested in joining our Korean Language Program (KLP) team. Our comprehensive, non-intensive language program offers nine-levels of study ranging from Beginning to Advanced courses. Additionally, we provide conversation courses at each level as well as topic-based classes such as K-Pop, Hanja, and Business Korean. Our four-term, year-round program consists of three 10-week terms offered in winter, spring, and fall and a summer 8-week term. Classes are primarily offered online, meeting once per week for two hours.


As our virtual program continues to grow both in the U.S. and internationally, we are seeking enthusiastic Korean language instructors able to teach across a variety of time zones. Our students are 18 years or older and typically early to mid-career professionals across a range of fields.


Responsibilities:

  • * Prepare and deliver engaging Korean language lessons.
  • * Assess and monitor students' progress.

Schedule:

  • * Seeking applicants who can teach online classes in the evenings and/or Saturdays across a variety of time zones, especially PST (US Pacific)


Qualifications:

  • * Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree preferred
  • * Eligible to work in the US
  • * Native or near-native fluency in Korean and English
  • * A minimum of one year of Korean language teaching experience at any level
  • * Experience using online tools and systems


Compensation:

  • * Hourly instructor adjunct rate is $95 per teaching hour.
