Lab Technician – Food Science Corp Office - Contract

About The Role

We’re looking for a lab technician to join the our Food Science Team at our Corporate office in Parsippany, NJ. This position will be part of our food science group with a primary focus on analytical testing for the purposes of setting product specifications.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Organizing a large volume of finished food products to go through an array of analytical testing
• Calibrating instruments on a regular basis as prescribed by Food Scientist
• Running tests including but not limited to: viscosity, texture analysis, spectrophotometry, turbidity and particle size analysis
• Maintaining a clean and organized work environment
• Maintaining a database of test results
• Follow all food safety and sanitation HACCP guidelines 
  
  

Role Details

• Job Location: Parsippany, NJ
• Hours: 8am - 4:30 pm  Monday - Friday 
• Pay Rate: $30/hr
• This position is a 90-day contract role
  
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Associates Degree in scientific discipline with laboratory emphasis or 1-2 years of experience as a lab technician
• Basic comprehension of English oral and written language 
• Basic skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word 
• Basic statistics skills (average and standard deviation)
• Ability to prioritize in a large queue of required testing
• Basic Knowledge of analytical equipment and laboratory testing best practices
• Ability to work as part of a Team collaborating
• Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the US
