The Opportunity
Role
We’re seeking a dedicated and meticulous Laboratory Technician to join our team. This role involves conducting bench-top chemical testing of bakery premixes, assessing various factors such as content, encapsulation, pH, gluten, and more. You’ll be integral in ensuring the timely and accurate testing of our products, and may also assist with advanced testing methods related to bakery products. This permanent, full-time position will report to the QC Laboratory Manager and is fully onsite. Essential functions include but are not limited to the following:
Conduct Laboratory Analysis : Perform testing and analysis of bakery premix products, ensuring quality and consistency.
Report Preparation : Document results and prepare detailed experimental reports for transparency and record-keeping.
Lab Maintenance : Oversee the smooth operation of our analytical lab, maintaining cleanliness and functionality.
Inventory Management : Manage necessary supplies and ingredients, ensuring the lab is always ready for testing.
Team Collaboration : Work effectively with QC, production, R&D, and other teams to achieve common goals.
Lead Lab Operations : Lead daily bake lab operations and scheduling, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Safety Compliance : Adhere to all safety policies, practices, and procedures, promoting a safe working environment.
Proactive Participation : Engage in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals, contributing to overall success.
Skills
The Skills you will bring to the team
Educational & Experience : High school graduate with five years of experience in a food testing laboratory, an associate’s degree focused on lab science, or seven years of laboratory testing experience.
Language Proficiency : Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
Industry Knowledge : Experience with basic testing of foods, supplements, or nutritional products.
Technical Skills : Familiarity with Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
Operational Skills : Ability to operate necessary equipment.
Professionalism : Excellent safety, attendance, and punctuality record.
Flexibility : Availability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
