Laboratory Supervisor
Description
Performs a variety of laboratory tests, many of which involve numerous steps and techniques, and require use of professional judgement. Tests are performed in Blood Bank, Coagulation, Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, and Chemistry. Professional application of the theories and techniques of clinical laboratory science (including evaluation of quality control data) are used to produce reliable test results which aid the clinician in diagnosis and treatment. Performs a variety of supervisory functions to include some administrative duties, personnel management and problem resolution. May have access to medication storage areas (excluding controlled substances) as related to job responsibilities.
SHIFT: Full time - Evening / Nights

SHIFT: Full time - Evening / Nights
Requirements
- MT (ASCP): Must have B.S. degree in Medical Technology or at least sixty semester hours of college with training in a certified Medical Technology training program. Must be currently registered and a member of the American Society of Clinical Pathology.
- MT (Non-ASCP): Must have B.S. degree in Medical Technology or at least sixty semester hours of college with training in a certified Medical Technology training program. Must be either eligible for the ASCP exam or Registered as a Medical Technologist with AMT. (some MT staff employed prior to 1990 were “grandfathered” as MT through experience and HEW exam.)
- Medical Laboratory Technician: Must have an associate’s degree as a Medical Laboratory Technician and be registered or eligible by ASCP or AMT.
- Must have at least two years work experience, preferably as a generalist. Previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Must demonstrate accountability in the correct performance of test performance of test procedures, reporting of accurate results, and the proper use of quality control materials.
- Must possess full range of body motion to pass basic FIT test for position to include walking, kneeling, standing, pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, reaching and sitting for extended periods of time. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
