Laboratory Supervisor

The Marshfield Medical Center-Dickinson seeks an experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join their team in Iron Mountain, Michigan.

You’ll be responsible for scheduling excellence, timecard management, competency coordination, technical support, and quality assurance collaboration.   • $69,867 - $98,280 annual salary based on experience.

  • Full-time Monday-Friday position with start times of 6am, 7am, or as assigned.

What You Will Do.


  • Oversee quality control, maintenance, inventory, and staffing to ensure smooth lab operations.
  • Collaborate with hospital leaders and departments to address concerns and implement improvements.
  • Ensure best practices in pre-analytical processes for quality patient results.
  • Approve timecards and work with the Lab Manager to meet productivity goals.
  • Review QA and regulatory reports and provide action steps as needed.
  • Assist with staff on-boarding, orientation, and training.
  • Maintain competency in the core lab and cover the bench when needed.

What We Are Looking For.


  • Associate’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical laboratory experience required; supervisory experience preferred.
  • ASCP certification or equivalent certification required.
  • A professional demeanor that ensures trust and competence amongst team members.
  • Possess a strong supervisory aptitude with a proven track record of success in coordinating/participating in daily operations, tracking performance and process improvement.
  • Proficiency with computers and basic office software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) including experience with computer-based laboratory information system software.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks/staff simultaneously.
  • Ability to successfully pass a pre-hire drug screening and background check.
