Medline Industries, Inc. is seeking a talented individual with knowledge of and experience working with custom applications using techno-functional skills. This Lead Business Analyst will work closely with our Sales Operations department to continue building our Supply Chain Foundations (SCF) tool used by Medline’s Prime Vendor Analysts and Medline customers. This individual will work as a Lead Business Analyst on the SCF SCRUM team to deliver incremental product releases, refine the product backlog, lead sprint planning sessions, participate in sprint retrospectives, showcase new work in sprint demos, and support our 3000+ user base. Job Summary

Responsible for collaborating with business partners to identify and document business problems. Recommend solutions with new or existing processes, applications, systems, programs, or software. Will manage and drive multiple primary assignments and handle complex issues/requests. Will act as the primary contact with business stakeholders to collect requirements, lead the team through sprints, demo work in progress, validate and test the development work, and deliver the execution of the technical release.

Major Responsibilities

  • Lead and drive requirements gathering sessions, and discovery workshops with multiple stakeholders with minimal dependency from the Manager. Organize and engage in effective meetings with the team and business. Able to perform proxy product owner duties.
  • Identify the inter-dependencies of complex projects across domains. Requires leading, communication, and collaboration with cross-functional teams including senior leaders and executives.
  • Research solutions are available with minimal dependency on the manager.
  • Ability to articulate business solutions and to communicate with technical teams to develop and configure solutions.
  • Support technical team members by providing functional clarification and setting expectations with the team and client.
  • Prioritize primary assignments for other team members. Provide feedback to team members as required.
  • Investigate and document business requirements from business partners to facilitate discussions and conduct workflow analyses.
  • Interpret business requirements to functional designs. Collaborate with Developers and Engineers on technical designs and development.
  • Convert business requirements into user stories workflow charts and diagrams with appropriate acceptance criteria that can be converted into technical tasks.
  • Document requirements, create specifications and/or wireframes, change requests, test cases, user guides, and strategy roadmaps.
  • Act as a liaison and lead between the IT development group and business partners for the development and implementation of new systems and enhancement of existing systems. Liaison with low code developers as they develop new features and enhancements.
  • Working with large datasets within applications, creative problem-solving, leadership, and communication skills are necessary to drive change.
  • Work with the business partners to ensure process and system changes are communicated clearly and that users are informed and/or trained sufficiently – lead change management efforts.
  • The ability to multi-task is critical to this role – answering business questions, helping prime vendor analysts with the tool, working with developers on stories, preparing future stories, testing current stories, and completing production migrations.

Monitoring And Support

  • Collaborate with infrastructure and application development teams to design an effective system monitoring & alerting plan.
  • Respond to any system anomalies like performance or vulnerability alerts and partner with respective teams to remediate them.
  • Respond to inquiries from business partners, requests from users, and support calls/tickets escalated by the help desk.
  • Conduct root-cause analysis for system-related incidents. Facilitate root-cause analysis for incidents related to infrastructure or other externally managed dependencies
  • Off-hours support for migrations typically 1-2 nights/month (7 pm – 11 pm).

People Management

  • While not having direct reports, this position will partner with the team manager on matters like capacity management, maximizing the throughput of the available staff, employee feedback, retention, etc.
  • This role will be seen as a mentor by other team members. Conduct peer reviews, provide guidance on specific matters, and coach the team to elevate their performance and develop their skills.
  • Conduct peer reviews and guide other team members as needed.
  • Observe the team’s delivery workflow and suggest changes in process/tooling to gain efficiencies.

Release Management

  • Understand and adhere to IS change management policies.
  • Identify and execute best practices to ensure a streamlined, reliable deployment and a streamlined, reliable roll-back process.
  • Demonstrate good judgment on risk and impact for various types of changes done by the team.
  • Ability to grade appropriately critical/highly visible changes vs routine/low-risk changes.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

A Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field. Or equivalent work experience with desired systems and technologies.

Work Experience

  • 7+ years of experience in business analysis and configuration on relevant platforms – writing user stories, the transition of functionality to developers, functional testing, and delivery.
  • 3+ years in a role providing production support for large enterprise-grade applications.
  • Experience in leading medium-sized teams in building custom development web application features and enhancements.

Nice to Haves

  • Knowledge of inventory management, supply chain analytics, demand forecasting, inventory surplus, backorders
  • Experience in an agile/scrum
  • Experience applying project management methodologies
  • Knowledge of low code systems such as MS Power Platform – Power Apps, Power BI, Power Pages, Power Automate
  • Utilizing SQL for data analysis
  • Complex Excel knowledge

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

  • Broad knowledge of hardware, software, and programming.
  • Experience documenting complex processes and generating supporting diagrams.
  • Time management skills such as prioritizing/organizing and tracking details and meeting deadlines of multiple projects with varying completion dates.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams and facilitating teams to identify and implement solutions to complex problems.
  • Ability to assess and initiate actions independently.
  • Experience and skills in influencing, leading, and directing individuals in multiple functional areas.
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills.
  • Strong customer service/consultive skills.
  • Strong business analytical and problem-solving skills.
