We seek a talented and experienced Lead Character Artist for a long-term Contract position for 12 Months.
As the Lead Character Artist, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the visual identity of our upcoming projects. You will be responsible for leading a team of skilled artists, guiding them in creating compelling character designs, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met.

Responsibilities:
- Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of character artists, providing guidance and mentorship to foster their growth and skill development. Collaborate with other leads and directors to ensure seamless integration of character art into the overall game vision
- Character Design: Oversee the creation of diverse and visually captivating character designs, ensuring they align with the game's artistic direction and narrative requirements
- Pipeline Development: Continuously improve and optimize the character art pipeline to enhance efficiency and maintain high-quality output. Implement best practices and new techniques to elevate the team's performance
- Collaboration: Work closely with concept artists, animators, tech artists, and other team members to ensure seamless character integration into the game world. Foster a collaborative environment where ideas and feedback are welcomed and valued
- Quality Control: Ensure that all character assets meet the established quality standards and specifications. Review and provide constructive feedback to maintain consistency and cohesion throughout the game
- Innovation: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in character art techniques and technology. Champion innovative approaches to character creation to elevate the visual impact of our games
- Communication: Effectively communicate with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and external partners to facilitate the smooth execution of character art-related tasks and meet project milestones
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as a character artist in the gaming industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership or lead artist role
- Portfolio: A strong portfolio showcasing exceptional character art and design skills across various styles and genres. Your portfolio should demonstrate your ability to create memorable and believable characters
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software such as Maya, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop. Knowledge of game engines like Unreal Engine or Unity is essential
- Leadership Abilities: Proven experience in leading and mentoring artists, providing constructive feedback, and fostering a collaborative team culture
- Passion: A genuine passion for video games, art, and storytelling. You should have a keen eye for detail and a desire to push the boundaries of character art in gaming
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and ever-evolving environment, adapting to changing project demands and timelines
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with diverse team members
