About us:

Viderity is an award-winning consulting firm that provides IT and outreach services to federal agencies and commercial organizations. You'll be working with a friendly and whip-smart team supporting a well-known organization responsible for exciting discoveries ranging from the first internet browser to black holes to the first semiconductor!

Position Availability:

This is a temporary, full-time hourly position to cover specific dates. The selected candidate will be required to work from December 7, 2024, to December 14, 2024, and again from March 24, 2025, to May 12, 2025.

This is a 100% remote role for people based in Washington, D.C. Metro Area – D.C., Maryland, Virginia

About the Role:

The Lead Graphic Designer will play a pivotal role in designing and executing a range of creative projects that strengthen and elevate our clients’ brands. This role involves conceptualizing and creating impactful visual designs across various mediums, including digital, print, and multimedia platforms. The ideal candidate will have a strategic approach to design, a deep understanding of brand development, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand and Visual Design:

  • Develop and execute visual design strategies that enhance brand identity and meet client objectives.
  • Lead the creative process from concept to completion, ensuring all designs align with client brand guidelines and project goals.
  • Create high-quality visual content, including graphics, infographics, presentations, and marketing materials for both digital and print platforms.
  • Oversee the development of creative assets for social media, web, email campaigns, and other digital marketing channels.

Collaboration and Project Management:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, communications, and development, to understand project requirements and deliver exceptional design solutions.
  • Manage multiple design projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget constraints.
  • Provide creative direction and mentorship to junior designers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to present design concepts and iterate based on feedback.

Technical Expertise and Quality Assurance:

  • Utilize advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) and other design software to create visually compelling designs.
  • Conduct quality assurance checks to ensure all design outputs meet high standards of accuracy, quality, and consistency and ensure 508c compliancy.
  • Stay up-to-date with design trends, tools, and best practices to continuously enhance the creative output.
  • Implement and manage file organization systems to maintain an efficient workflow and ensure easy access to design assets.

Vendor Collaboration and Production Management:

  • Collaborate with external vendors to prepare and deliver design files for production, ensuring that all specifications are met and designs are optimized for the intended medium.
  • Manage the coordination of timelines and production schedules with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of high-quality design materials.
  • Oversee the quality control of printed and digital materials, conducting reviews to confirm accuracy and adherence to design standards.
  • Ensure effective communication with vendors to resolve any issues that arise during the production process, maintaining a high standard of quality and consistency.

Required skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Visual Arts, or a related field.
  • 10 years of professional experience in graphic design, with a strong portfolio showcasing a diverse range of creative projects.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute comprehensive visual design strategies that drive brand success.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, primarily InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, and other relevant design tools.
  • Experience in managing and mentoring a design team, with a demonstrated ability to lead and inspire creativity.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to clearly articulate design concepts to clients and team members.
  • Expertise with digital marketing strategies and tools, including social media, web design, and email marketing platforms.

Salary Range: $50.00-70.00/hour
