Engineering associated with the manufacturing process. Impacts quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Executes standard operational/technical tasks typically subject to instructions and work routines. There is latitude to rearrange the sequence to complete task/duties based on changing work situations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Government Property Representative involving tracking, cost, material management, lean, 5S
Advanced manufacturing planning support involving scheduling, program support, hardware management
This potentially includes some minor general administrative work
Broadening knowledge of own technical discipline to develop, implement, and execute processes, procedures, and standards
May include support roles with specialized technical field of knowledge; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills
Basic understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work
Good understanding of how the working technical team integrates with other teams and contributes to the overall project success of the area.
May have some autonomy to make decisions within a defined framework
Resolve issues in situations that require good technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures. Consult more senior team members for issues outside of defined instructions/parameters
A job at this level requires good interpersonal skills and may be required to lead a junior team. For customer facing roles, develop strong customer relationships and serve as the interface between customer and GE. Explain technical information to others
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university (or a high school diploma /GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Chemical, etc)
Additional 5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering
Must be a US citizen
Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
