Learning and Organizational Development - Principal Consultant

Position Objective

Plans, implements and evaluates the non-clinical training, education, and development programs for all Medical Center employees to enable them to perform effectively in their area of current or future responsibilities at the Medical Center.

Essential Job Duties

Directs and provides training/development and leadership programs to promote effectiveness of Medical Center's staff and management.

Directs and provides training/development and leadership educational programs which meet the non-clinical skill development and educational needs of all Medical Center employees.

Fully complies with all applicable Joint Commission, Federal and State regulations and guidelines. Includes effectively communicating, designing, developing, conducting/coordinating, and evaluating programs.

Oversees administrative orientation for new employees.

Develops short and long-term training and development goals for Medical Center employees by gathering needs assessment data through a variety of means, and implements appropriate programs based on goals.

Coordinates as needed with external consultants on developing programs under the guidance of the Vice President of Human Resources.

In coordination with HR management serves as an internal consultant, facilitator, and technical advisor to Medical Center management and other employees on specific employee training and development issues.

Develops policies for tuition assistance, certification examination reimbursement, and special tuition assistance programs. Approves all requests.

In coordination with Vice President of Human Resources, selects and contracts with consultants to provide training/educational services.

Reviews and updates, on an annual basis, Medical Center policies relative to training and education.

Educational/Experience Requirements

Master’s degree in human resource/organizational development or related field is required.

Five years of education/training program management which includes at least three years of program design, delivery, and evaluation with progressive supervisory responsibilities are required.

There is a reasonable expectation that employees in this position will not be exposed to blood-borne pathogens.

Physical Demands -

Medium work. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
