Summary Of Position

The purpose of this job is to ensure alignment and execution of Training and Development initiatives to assist the organization in achieving strategic goals and objectives. This job oversees and has ultimate responsibility for all learning and development department outcomes, and coordinates department talent and resources to fulfill external opportunities and meet organizational needs in a fiscally responsible manner. This position develops and coordinates strategy, and reports on successes and opportunities of key initiatives and programs. Field responsibilities include training delivery, session facilitation, systems assessments and improvements, and targeted market or region support as needed. This position also oversees successful implementation and execution of training products, tools and services including an electronic Learning Management System (LMS). This position will report to the Chief HR Officer.

This position will have direct supervision of all training positions to include Director, Training and Delivery Systems, Instructional Designer, and Field Trainers for both brands.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Audit field execution of training systems and processes, solicit feedback, and improve training tools, materials, services and processes for maximum organization and learner benefits
  • Monitor and take action to ensure trained talent is available to meet business demands in partnership with Operations and Human Resources
  • Develop and manage an electronic Learning Management System (LMS) for use in restaurants for training of employees at all levels
  • Assist in the development of initiatives using the LMS for employee onboarding, policy acknowledgement, performance review, and employee out processing
  • Develop and facilitate training programs for all field management teams
  • Manage and oversee the development of the corporate culture in the Perkins brand
  • In cooperation with corporate Human Resources, assist in the development and facilitation of training programs for corporate supervisors and managers
  • Coordinate conferences and events for field leadership
  • Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, training, and development of direct and indirect reports to ensure talent and skill availability for future initiatives
  • Conduct industry, environmental, and field research on products, tools and services and innovate improved training solutions, mechanisms and processes
  • Source vendors for specific products, tools or services


Education Level Required

Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Training, Training Technologies, Education, or Business Administration

Education Level Preferred

Graduate degree in Organizational Development, Human Resources, Training, Training Technologies, Education, or Business Administration is preferred. Also, certification in Human Resources or Training a plus.

Experience Required

  • 5+ years in a training management position in restaurant or retail organization
  • Proven ability to communicate with an influence senior leaders
  • Successful record of planning, implementing and managing projects
  • Leadership of a team of professionals
  • Ability to analyze corporate processes and programs and provide / implement recommendations for development and improvement
  • Exceptional public speaking skills to large a small groups
  • 10+ years experience facilitating multiple-day training programs to small and large groups
  • Proven leadership in coordinating large group events and corporate meetings
  • Knowledge of and ability to implement programs to drive and change culture in an organization
  • Proven knowledge of technology, especially systems used for restaurant training
  • Experience in restaurant operations at the supervisory level or above
  • Excellent communication skills (written, electronic, verbal)

  • Implementation of an electronic or remote training delivery system for large restaurant or retail organization
