The Department of Music & Entertainment Industry Studies at the University of Colorado Denver seeks a part-time, non-tenure-track Lecturer of Music History.
This appointment requires a 100% teaching load. Teaching assignment will focus on the department’s required music history course, Music in Culture, music history electives, and other courses as assigned by the chair. Teaching responsibilities may also include other areas relevant to the Department’s programs and candidate’s expertise.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary is set at $5,150 (for a standard 3-credit course).
The above salary rate represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the rate at the time of posting.

Disciple knowledge and classroom or applied experience in areas of need. Candidates must have a background in ethnomusicology with focus on pop music. Candidates should demonstrate a strong commitment to excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level. In addition, candidates should have a willingness to participate in the growth and development of the music program.
Minimum Requirements
Master’s degree in ethnomusicology. Experience teaching in a higher education environment.
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
Preferred Requirements
Doctorate in ethnomusicology or a music discipline related to the above-mentioned field of inquiry.
