Position Overview:

We are expanding our team and seeking a highly motivated and experienced Licensing Manager to represent CMS in New York City. As the Licensing Manager, you will be responsible for selling existing KISS and Reelshort copyrights through traditional channels, as well as exploring opportunities in the offline book market. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth of our licensing business and expand our presence in both domestic and international markets.

Responsibilities:

Licensing Sales and Market Expansion:

  • Represent CMS in New York City, promoting and selling existing KISS and Reelshort copyrights
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand our presence in the offline book market, leveraging existing copyrights

Contract Negotiations:

  • Manage domestic and international copyright management, exploring opportunities for exclusive offline sublicensing, audiobooks, and foreign rights
  • Negotiate and execute sublicensing agreements, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations
  • Coordinate with legal and finance teams to ensure proper documentation and compliance with copyright laws
  • Identify and pursue licensing opportunities with offline retailers, bookstores, and other distribution channels
  • Negotiate terms with publishers, including author's advance, royalties, and rights such as film rights or foreign rights, leveraging CMS's popularity, rapid growth, etc

Cross-functional Collaboration and Strategy:

  • Provide insights and recommendations on market trends, audience preferences, and emerging opportunities
  • Attend industry events and maintain awareness of industry developments and competitive landscape
  • Collaborate with CMS internal teams to ensure effective marketing and promotion of licensed titles in offline channels


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., publishing, communications, media studies) or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in licensing, content acquisition, or intellectual property management within the publishing or entertainment industry
  • Strong network and relationships within the publishing or author community, with knowledge of web novel platforms
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders
  • Experience managing licensing rights and exploring international sublicensing opportunities
  • Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and project management abilities
  • Familiarity with legal and contract terms related to licensing agreements
  • Passion for storytelling and understanding of reader preferences
