Linux Systems Administrator

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Administrator to join our team. You'll oversee multi-user computer systems, coordinate infrastructure, and manage cloud operations. Your responsibilities include developing core operating system builds, focusing on coding, virtualization, and automation. You'll also manage administrator accounts, maintain user directories and system documentation, and optimize system performance, specializing in Red Hat and Solaris Linux as well as VMware.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain the operation of multi-user computer systems, including infrastructure coordination and cloud responsibilities.
• Develop and design core operating system builds, ensuring coding, virtualization, and automation of systems.
• Setup administrator and service accounts, maintain active directory of users and system documentation, and tune system performance.
• Install system-wide software and allocate mass storage space.
• Assess and resolve user access problems related to security controls to minimize business impact and risk exposure.
• Identify and evaluate vendor products, establish vendor monitoring and tracking processes.
• Perform capacity planning, monitor, and tune systems.
• Recommend appropriate platforms for purchase, coordinate installation, and provide backup recovery.
• Serve as a point of escalation for major incidents unresolved at the helpdesk level.
• Develop and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to computing resources.
• Draft general IT communications to end-users including notifications of outages/downtimes.
• Act as the primary liaison for mergers, acquisitions, and divestiture activities related to user access, network, security, and support.

Requirements:

• Operating Systems: Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Solaris, VMware.
• Hardware: Dell.
• Software/Applications: RedHat IDM, McAfee Enterprise Central Logging, LDAP, Splunk, NetApp, VMware vCenter/ESXi/vSAN, Github, ACAS.
• Networking Applications and Protocols: TCP/IP, DNS/DHCP, NTP, SSH.
• Programming Languages: Ansible, Shell Scripting, PowerShell.
• Experience with centralized authentication (SSSD, IDM, Active Directory) and centralized sudo administration via IDM.
• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field
