Position Overview

As a Hotel Maintenance Technician, your primary responsibility is to ensure the overall maintenance and upkeep of the hotel's physical facilities and equipment. You will be responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance tasks to ensure the safety, functionality, and aesthetic appeal of the property. Your role is essential in providing a pleasant and comfortable experience for hotel guests.

Responsibilities

• Preventive Maintenance: Execute regular inspections of hotel facilities, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces, to identify potential maintenance issues. Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as replacing light bulbs, fixing plumbing leaks, and repairing or replacing damaged furniture or fixtures.
• Repairs and Troubleshooting: Respond promptly to maintenance requests and resolve any issues in a timely manner. Diagnose and troubleshoot problems related to electrical systems, HVAC systems, plumbing, and other mechanical systems. Repair or replace faulty equipment and components as needed.
• Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all maintenance activities are performed in accordance with safety protocols, building codes, and regulations. Conduct regular inspections to identify potential safety hazards and take appropriate measures to address them. Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
• Equipment and Systems Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment such as boilers, HVAC systems, elevators, and fire safety systems. Keep accurate records of maintenance performed and coordinate with external service providers for more extensive repairs or maintenance requirements.
• Guest Satisfaction: Respond promptly to guest inquiries, requests, and complaints related to maintenance issues. Provide exceptional customer service and ensure that guest concerns are addressed and resolved to their satisfaction.
• Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other hotel departments, including housekeeping and the front desk, to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure minimal disruption to guests. Communicate effectively with hotel management and colleagues regarding maintenance needs, progress, and potential issues.
• Budget Management: Assist in maintaining an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment. Provide input and recommendations for budget planning and control related to maintenance activities. Identify cost-effective solutions and suppliers while maintaining quality standards.
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training in a relevant field is preferred.
• Proven experience in general maintenance or a similar role, preferably in a hotel or hospitality environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general repair techniques.
• Familiarity with maintenance tools and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks efficiently.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Physical stamina and the ability to lift heavy objects and perform manual tasks as required.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
