Maintenance Technician - Multi-Craft

Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician - Days M-F 7AM-3:30PM with Bonus Potential

Primary Objective

The Maintenance Technician is a key contributor to the reliability program of the OCI facility. This position is identified as a Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician with knowledge, skills and abilities in all levels of maintenance including, but not limited to mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and specialized skills such as welding, vibration analysis and laser alignment. The Maintenance Technician is eligible for the Qualification Progression Program where skills are learned, demonstrated and compensated.

Essential Functions

• Proactively monitor and maintain process equipment as it relates to mechanical, instrumentation and electrical functions and mechanical integrity in a safe, timely and cost efficient manner
• Coordinate and collaborate with all internal and external customers and contacts regarding equipment faults and best maintenance techniques to implement for maximum safe operational performance
• Utilize trouble-shooting skills to identify and correct equipment failure root causes
• Prioritize daily work orders according to their level of importance
• Identify problem areas and unsafe conditions; apply corrective actions and issue/track work orders
• Understand chemical compatibility and product knowledge
• Influence and support overall site by actively participating on all Value Added teams through attendance, contribution, facilitation and communication
• Complete other duties as assigned by Site Management
  
  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required; Additional education is a plus
• Three or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Placement based on mechanical aptitude assessment and previous relevant work experience
• WorkKeys® testing scores:
• Applied Technology (4)
• Applied Math (4),
• Workplace Documents (4)
• Good communications skills including written and verbal assignments
• Ability to work overtime when necessary and work the on-call rotation when scheduled
• Demonstrate competent computer and troubleshooting skills
  
  

Essential Physical Demands

• Must be able to climb 5-10 flights of stairs multiple times
• Must be able to climb ladders (multiple rungs) both fixed and portable.
• Must be able to sustain overhead reaching, bending, squatting, twisting.
• Must be able to sustain continuous sitting and standing
• Must be able to lift ~50 lb, pull, and push tools/equipment with ease.
• Must be able to work in outside elements (Heat, cold, rain, snow, etc)
• Must be able to walk without assistance on various work surfaces (gravel, concrete, asphalt, grating, dirt)
• Must be able to verbally communicate via radio
• Must be able to wear appropriate PPE (hard hat, eye protection, face shield, hearing protection, gloves, chemical suits, steel toed shoes, fall arrest).
