The Manager, Training & Development will play a critical role in designing, implementing and managing comprehensive training programs for our commercial team. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to an exciting product launch, enhancing the skills, knowledge, and competencies of our team members.

As a key member of the Commercial Training team, this role will ensure the successful execution of training programs that align with the company’s strategic initiatives.

This person will work cross-functionally with various departments to deliver high-impact training initiatives and foster a culture of continuous learning. Additionally, they will work closely with the commercial training team to align new hire onboarding and ongoing training efforts with our overall commercial training strategies and goals.

This is a remote position, with up to 20% travel throughout the US required.

Job Responsibilities:

Training Program Development

  • Design and implement training programs that align with business goals and enhance the capabilities of the commercial team
  • Develop curriculum and content for new hire onboarding, ongoing development, and product-specific training. Own overall training plan, identification of training deliverables, and training methodology for each deliverable
  • Ensure training programs incorporate best practices and adult learning methodologies
  • Determine education priorities and programs based on key strategic initiatives, product launches, and educational needs
  • Support the adoption and integration of utilizing a sales enablement platform (LMS) to house and drive training initiatives

Program execution and delivery

  • Facilitate training sessions through various methods: in-person, virtual, and on-demand formats
  • Manage the end-to-end execution of training programs, ensuring timely and effective delivery

Performance Metrics & Evaluation

  • Establish and track metrics to measure the effectiveness of training programs
  • Analyze training outcomes to ensure alignment with business objectives and identify areas of improvement
  • Gather feedback from commercial field team members to guide educational content
  • Present results and feedback to leadership

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders (e.g., downstream and upstream marketing, sales, medical education, clinical, and market access, etc.) to determine training needs and develop tailored solutions
  • Engage with internal and external SMEs to enhance training content and delivery
  • Collaborate with Clinical, Regulatory, and Commercial teams to develop programs and ensure compliance with all efforts

Leadership / Management

  • Work with the field sales training team to ensure alignment and pull through with key initiatives
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to commercial team members to drive professional growth and development

Skills Needed:

  • Strong project management, organization, and leadership skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent presentation, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in training methodologies and using training technologies, platforms, and tools

Educational Requirements & Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, preferably business, science, or education
  • 5+ years of medical professional education experience including design and implementation of programs
  • Previous medical device or healthcare experience in a sales, clinical, marketing or related capacity. Experience with cardiology is preferred
  • Proven ability to work with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills

The pay range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience and training; skill sets; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the base salary compensation range is $120,000 to $166,000 per year, cash bonus and stock options.
