Position Summary

Rocket’s Field Reimbursement Manager - East will report to the Head of Patient Services and Trade. This field-based role will be key to supporting the US value, access, and reimbursement strategy. This individual will support the onboarding of Qualified Treatment Centers (QTC) and is responsible for working with each institution’s procurement and reimbursement process with the goal of achieving access to Rocket’s current and future pipeline products. This integral member will lead the QTC educational process and inform key stakeholders on Rocket’s patient and provider services.

This team member will develop and execute a QTC engagement plan strategy in collaboration with Regional Business Leaders (RBL) and support Rocket’s portfolio of gene therapies. This individual will integrate cross-functionally across internal and external stakeholders, drive access at QTCs, facilitate reimbursement, and support commercial launch and growth plans. This integral team member will coordinate with RBLs around the onboarding of QTCs and be the subject matter expert around institutional access, coding and billing, reimbursement, and pull through.

This individual will be responsible for engaging in frequent and compliant discussions with key decision makers, to manage, assess, and if appropriate, impact change within the QTC and align with internal strategies. This person will demonstrate strong relationships with trade/industry relations, medical and pharmacy directors (clinical and administrative), case managers, medical benefits managers, and other key decision makers within their assigned accounts. In addition, this person will work closely with Rocket’s patient and provider HUB and act as a liaison between the QTC and HUB personnel.

This individual will work closely with Rocket’s value and access team, case management, medical affairs, marketing, sales, and Rocket’s leadership team to ensure consistent exchange of important QTC, payer, and reimbursement insights. This individual will provide periodic updates to management and other internal teams regarding important payer and reimbursement trends and issues.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Rocket cross-functional partners on overall account and territory strategy and maximize internal/external customer knowledge on payer policy and reimbursement processes.
  • Represent as a subject matter expert on the reimbursement and institutional access landscape including payer policies, prior authorization requirements, denials, appeals, peer-to-peer and other education required to navigate access.
  • Create short-term & long-term strategic account plans to onboard QTCs and support the process throughout the patient’s reimbursement journey.
  • Collaborate with Rocket’s Patient and Provider Services HUB on individual case management needs related to HCP education on reimbursement issues and services.
  • Leverage all available resources including internal data to develop and execute account plans/call purpose.
  • Build and cultivate an empowered team culture that enables high performance and collaboration.
  • Meet access goals and ensure medical coverage policies and pathways are consistent with FDA approved prescribing information.
  • Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Patient Services Team, Medical Affairs, Value and Access teams and other key stakeholders within Rocket to identify access barriers and ensure patient access.
  • Implement strategies and tactics to support individual patient access and reimbursement (e.g., coverage, coding) across QTCs, physicians, patients, and caregivers.
  • Gather information and create analyses to inform organizational understanding of the current and evolving influence of QTC dynamics, risks, and trends with potential business impact.
  • Represents US Value and Access team with professionalism and integrity at COEs, congresses meetings and internally across various Rocket departments and leadership teams.
  • Complying with annual budget allocation within respective territory
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures as well as US Healthcare laws and regulations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; degree in health sciences or business/marketing preferred.
  • MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.
  • Previous experience working in rare diseases, in a start-up environment, and on an innovative therapy such as cell and gene therapy is preferred.
  • Proven ability to navigate the complexity and personal of large Cell Gene Therapies (CGT) Centers of Excellence (COE)
  • Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience in the healthcare and/or pharmaceutical/ biotech industry Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience working with buy and bill and/or specialty pharmacy networks
  • Understanding of the treatment journey within treatment center from intent to treat to Rx infusion/injection.
  • Experience with products that require prior authorization and clear understanding of related billing, coding and treatment center/in-office support.
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with people at all levels, inside and outside of the company.
  • Ability to educate COEs and other healthcare professionals with confidence and expertise in a COE/office procedural environment.
  • Strong rapport building and active listening skills.
  • Problem solver with a sense of urgency
  • Demonstrated technical aptitude and working proficiency in using iPad and working proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Ability to work cross-functionally.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the current and evolving landscape within cell and gene therapies or complex therapies from both a medical and pharmacy benefit perspective
  • Exceptional customer business planning, tactical planning, and successful execution skills
  • Ability to skillfully negotiate in tough situations with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced start-up environment with high expectations and accountability for the quality and timing of critical deliverables.
  • Demonstrated problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • High attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities.

Compensation

Salary Range: $154,000 - $176,000
