The ideal candidate will be responsible to manage inventory control operations, implement policies, and establishe objectives and initiatives. They employ standards, metrics and procedures to maximize inventory management efficiency and assists with inventory planning, scheduling, forecasting and control operations. They implement tools and systems for tracking, analysis, auditing and reporting. They collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to identify and prioritize initiatives to optimize inventory levels and capabilities and they develop best inventory management practices. Manager will oversee receiving, warehousing and distribution daily activities while working to maximize efficiency and minimize staff overtime while ensuring effective, safe operations by implementing procedures and policies. They will analyze warehouse logistics data to increase productivity and aid in loss prevention. The manager will implement and improve warehouse operational policies and procedures. The Manager is accountable to implement and control best practices for HSE and Quality Management within their responsibility area.

Expectations

To excel in the role you should:

  • Establish NA Area inventory and materials management strategies, targets, and annual plans.
  • Implement and improve inventory management systems to optimize inventory control.
  • Training of inventory control policies and auditing of compliance.
  • Monitor demand and analyze the levels of inventories to identify healthy, excess and aged items.
  • Propose strategies to reduce costs and improve inventory levels and stock turns.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure business goals are met.
  • Prepare detailed reports and share with management status of stock levels, stock turns, issues, and improvement areas.
  • Own, train, participate and monitor regular cycle counts to determine available inventory and root causes of any variances.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to the inventory and material management team, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

To succeed in this role you will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree (BS)
  • Minimum of 10 years’ of experience as inventory manager or similar position. At least 5 years in a management position including relevant sourcing/procurement/inventory management experience.
  • Solid leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive change.
  • Understanding of the risk management components of this role and ability to mitigate risks for the organization.
  • Strong negotiation skills to be able to negotiate prices and terms with suppliers.
  • Analytical skills to be able to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Business oriented including the ability to maintain and improve supplier relations.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to articulate financial implications of decisions.
  • Strong contract and claims management skills.
  • Ability to travel 25%
