Manager of Infrastructure

Job Description Summary

The Manager of Infrastructure will lead a team of 6-7 engineers, focusing on designing, implementing, and optimizing the organization’s IT systems. This role requires strong systems engineering experience and involves overseeing networks, Azure cloud, servers, virtualization, storage, datacenters, disaster recovery, and data protection. This role ensures these systems are reliable, secure, and efficient, supporting critical business functions.

In addition to team management, there will be hands-on in engineering, driving technical strategy, troubleshooting, and implementing solutions. As well as close collaboration with engineers and developers to manage Tier-0 systems and leverage automation to enhance efficiency and performance.

The ideal candidate is a technical leader capable of balancing day-to-day operations with strategic IT infrastructure improvements.

Critical Job Functions

• Identify and address gaps or inefficiencies in hardware and software.
• Keep informed on industry trends and advise management on new developments.
• Define and enforce procedures for consistent, high-quality work.
• Ensure tasks are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
• Resolve issues or escalate as necessary.
• Lead your team to achieve high performance and meet organizational goals.
• Regularly update your team and stakeholders.
• Identify skill gaps, create training plans, and provide ongoing feedback.
• Support engineers in their professional growth.
• Oversee the infrastructure budget and participate in budgeting.
  
  

Job Requirements

• 7+ years in a managerial role.
• 5+ years in systems engineering.
• Expertise in Azure Cloud, Cisco networking, SDWAN, Load Balancers, Active Directory, Windows OS, VMware, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure best practices.
• PowerShell scripting and Azure cost management experience (preferred).
• Industry certifications (MCSE, VCP, Azure fundamentals) (preferred).
• Quick learner with a strong interest in new technologies.
• Excellent time management and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Compensation

• $135,000.00 to $140,000.00 per year
