Paid Time Off

AMSURG offers paid time off, 9 observed holidays, and paid family leave. You accrue Paid Time Off (PTO) each pay period and depending on your position and can earn a minimum of 20 days and up to 25 days per calendar year.

Position Summary

The Manager Procurement, IT Sourcing is responsible for the development and execution of procurement category strategies, strategic sourcing initiatives, and supplier relationship management for assigned spend categories. The ultimate goal is the reduction of operating expenses while improving the services provided across all business units. The categories include, but are not limited to IT hardware, software, and the maintenance and services associated with supporting the execution of the overall Information Technology strategy.

Work Schedule: This role is offered on a fully remote basis allowing the Manager Procurement, IT Sourcing to be based anywhere in the country.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sourcing strategies that align with the key stakeholders IT needs and overall business goals.
  • Collaborate with IT teams and stakeholders to understand technology requirements and translate them into actionable sourcing plans.
  • Source, evaluate, and select vendors for IT hardware, software, and services based on quality, cost, compliance criteria.
  • Responsible for negotiating, coordinating, and assuring that assigned spend categories are purchased at the lowest possible cost without compromise to product quality or patient care
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for cost savings and innovation in IT sourcing.
  • Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships, conducting regular performance reviews and addressing any issues or concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry regulations, and ethical standards throughout the sourcing process.
  • Collaborate with legal and compliance teams to review and approve vendor contracts, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements.
  • Provide guidance and support to cross-functional teams regarding procurement best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay informed about emerging technologies and market trends that could impact the healthcare IT procurement landscape.
  • Participate in budget planning and forecasting activities, providing insights on expected procurement costs and trends.
  • Lead or contribute to special projects aimed at optimizing sourcing processes, driving efficiencies and enhancing the overall IT sourcing function.
  • Use current and future spend data to identify sourcing projects and develop overall cost reduction plans for managed categories.
  • Develop and utilize business and financial modeling to support decision making efforts.
  • Plan and execute effective negotiation processes with vendors that meet both cost and performance goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop supplier selection criteria and contract SLA’s.
  • Lead supplier relationship management activities, including supplier rationalization and qualification efforts.
  • Perform cost and usage analyses, benchmarking, and contract compliance to determine savings potential, presenting findings and recommendations to business and functional leads.
  • Maintain current vendor directory and databases, including contract management systems.
  • Maintain the current GPO contract portfolio, notifying internal customers when contracts are modified.
  • Monitor corporate purchasing contracts for product additions/deletions, notifying internal customers of changes that would require additional follow-up.
  • Review proposed contracts/agreements for accuracy and compliance with GPO and/or Corporate Agreement Terms and Conditions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and strategic suppliers.
  • Assist with corporate, regional, and local contract reviews and renewals when needed.
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including Information Security Policies and ensure that AMSURG remains as secure as possible.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge And Skills

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required:

  • Experience leading end-to-end Strategic Sourcing initiatives.
  • Experience with contract negotiations.
  • Experience with data gathering and analysis.
  • Experience reviewing Contract Terms and Conditions.
  • Experience with Group Purchasing Organizations (GPO).

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited College or University.
  • Five (5) or more years’ experience in IT procurement and/or strategic sourcing.
  • Prior experience in the healthcare industry, sourcing medical products strongly preferred.

Other Qualifications

Strong customer relations skills. Experienced leader and manager in a team-oriented environment with strong relationship management skills. Ability to manage in a multi-site organization. Must be able to handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently while maintaining a professional, courteous manner. Must be able to work well with others. Strong verbal and written communication skills required. Must be detail oriented and organized. High integrity, including maintenance of confidential information. Must be able to exercise good judgment and positively influence and lead others, including handling confrontations with poise and efficiency. Based on business need, the ability to work a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends. Must pass a background check and drug screen.
