Job Summary:

The Managing Director is responsible for overseeing the overall operations, growth, and profitability of the practice. As a strategic leader, the Managing Director will spearhead business development initiatives, foster client relationships, and ensure the delivery of high-impact marketing solutions. This position demands a visionary leader who can drive innovation, lead cross-functional teams, and manage financial performance while maintaining a creative and collaborative culture within the agency.


Key Responsibilities:


Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the agency’s long-term strategy, driving business growth and ensuring alignment with the company’s goals.
  • Identify market trends, emerging technologies, and new business opportunities to maintain the agency’s competitive edge.
  • Collaborate with department heads (creative, digital, strategy, analytics, etc.) to deliver integrated marketing solutions that meet client objectives.


Business Development:

  • Drive new business initiatives, leading pitches, proposals, and presentations to win new clients and projects.
  • Build a robust pipeline of new business opportunities and partnerships.
  • Foster long-term relationships with existing clients, identifying opportunities for upselling and expanding services.


Client Relationship Management:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for high-value clients, ensuring strong client relationships and satisfaction.
  • Develop a deep understanding of client businesses and objectives, positioning the agency as a strategic partner.
  • Monitor and ensure the delivery of high-quality marketing campaigns and projects, addressing any issues proactively.


Operational Oversight:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the agency, ensuring processes, resources, and timelines are effectively managed.
  • Implement best practices to improve operational efficiency, project management, and client service delivery.
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics to track the agency’s success and ensure goals are met.


Financial Management:

  • Manage the agency’s financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, and P&L oversight.
  • Ensure profitability by monitoring revenue streams, controlling costs, and improving financial efficiency.
  • Work with the finance team to develop pricing strategies, contract terms, and billing processes that align with agency objectives.


Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire the senior management team, ensuring collaboration and a shared vision for success.
  • Promote a positive, dynamic, and inclusive work environment that fosters creativity, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Ensure the recruitment, development, and retention of top talent across all departments.


Marketing Excellence & Innovation:

  • Lead the agency in delivering cutting-edge marketing strategies, campaigns, and solutions across digital, content, media, and creative channels.
  • Encourage a culture of innovation by staying current with marketing technologies, tools, and methodologies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of campaigns and ensure continuous improvement in creative and strategic outputs.


Brand Reputation & Positioning:

  • Act as the agency’s representative in the industry, attending events, networking, and enhancing the agency’s profile.
  • Build the agency's reputation as a thought leader in marketing, through case studies, awards, publications, and speaking engagements.


Risk & Compliance Management:

  • Ensure that the agency complies with all legal, financial, and regulatory requirements.
  • Proactively manage any risks associated with operations, client contracts, or financial performance.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the marketing or advertising industry, with at least 5 years in senior management roles.
  • Proven track record of managing a marketing agency or significant business unit, delivering successful marketing strategies, and driving growth.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing, brand strategy, content marketing, media buying, and analytics.
  • Demonstrated financial management experience, including managing budgets and P&L.
  • Excellent client management and relationship-building skills.
