Manage projects, NPI, and other product launches through utilization of the DIAMOND process.
Develop and implement new product design and product improvement efforts managing the product development process through various stages including prototype development and certification, material/labor costing, and production methodology.
Create, maintain, and improve standard work procedures and effectively communicate/train to instructions.
Interfaces with shop floor associates to discuss and resolve design and manufacturing issues.
Responsible for the review process of customer purchase orders for new and legacy forgings / dies.
Support continuous improvement activities; apply Lean, Six Sigma, and sound RCCA tools.

Design and simulate tooling and process to produce a finished forged part that meets customer specifications
Utilize design software and tools to provide valid information to technically support sales
Design the preform shapes and operations required to produce the finished forged part
Setup and run FEA simulations to validate that the tooling design will produce an acceptable finish forging
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
BS in Mechanical Engineering, or similar discipline with 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment; forging experience preferred.
Proven ability to manage projects and multiple concurrent priorities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must possess solid analytical skills in defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions
Introductory experience with 3D CAD package, prefer CATIA V5
Familiarity with Finite Element Analysis principles
Metal flow simulation software a plus (DEFORM 2D/3D)
Knowledge of drawing and dimensioning standards (ASME Y14.5-1994 and later)
Experience with detailing and understanding tooling layouts and assemblies
