Responsibilities
The Manufacturing Engineer is to establish, support the daily operation of, and continually develop the manufacturing process for assigned product groups in the shop, by ensuring technical requirements, enabling safe, quality and cost-effective manufacturing in time (lead time and on time) in compliance with the relevant specifications, internal procedures / practices and regulatory / standard requirements. Demonstrates full ownership on the technical aspects of the manufacturing process from raw material preparation, through machining, processing and finishing to final quality check of the products.

As the Manufacturing Engineer you will utilize experience and expertise to solve problems, develop and execute projects for self and others and has the ability to affect short-term and some long-term business goals. Essential responsibilities include:
- Manage and optimize CNC machining processes, including CAM programming using Mastercam
- Design fixtures and develop 3D models to support the manufacturing processes
- Managing and optimizing all the technical enablers of a safe, quality and efficient manufacturing process for the assigned products: Routings, Methods / Work Instruction, required Materials incl. locally manufactured, Fixtures, Tools&Supplies, Environment, related Trainings, New Equipment, etc. in accordance with internal and external procedures, requirements and practices
- Attending the daily cell level production meetings and taking the lead on solving technical issues and overcome obstacles which are impeding continuous material flow in production
- Continuous monitoring of Quality (Defect, Rework, FPY, etc.), Delivery (Plan, Cycle, OTD, etc.) and Cost (Labour hours, Productivity, Yield / Fall out, Materials, etc.) metrics for exceptions and trends, define and implement corrective and improvement actions, use data for prioritization
- Being part of a local manufacturing and a global engineering team, embracing the Production System, engaging relevant stakeholders, managing by exceptions and escalating in case if necessary
- Leading / Participating in Projects / Mission Based Teams, targeting Changes / Improvements
- Applying LEAN – 6Sigma, Fastworks and Simplification principles and tools in everyday work. Asking for help, sharing best practices
- Driving / Supporting EHS and Quality RCA’s, definition and implementation of Corrective Actions / Preventive Actions. Driving / Supporting EHS and Ergonomics projects
- Leading New Technology Implementation (NTI) initiatives
- Special Process Ownership – optional
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with experience in Engineering or manufacturing leadership position
- Proficiency in CNC machining and CAM programming (Mastercam a plus)
- Experience in fixture design and 3D modeling (Inventor a plus)
- Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T
- Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and leadership skills
- Ability to influence others and lead small teams
- Lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact and ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
- Effective problem identification and solution skills
- Proven analytical and organizational skill
- Native / advanced level of English language skills
- Fixture design
- ERP system knowledge is an advantage
- Six Sigma Green Belt certification is an advantage
- Spanish language skills may be an advantage
