Quanex is looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join our talented team located in Cambridge, OH.


Responsibilities: The Manufacturing Engineer will be working under limited to general supervision and will be responsible for controlling multiple project activities in the areas of manufacturing processes and equipment design. This will also include full business objectives including product design, product modification, manufacturability studies, plant usage and engineering documentation.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Research, develop and evaluate new technology including auxiliary equipment requirements to ensure a competitive industry advantage, and to design and build proprietary equipment that is not yet commercially
  • Prepares R.F.E.'s for engineering tools and equipment needed for execution of projects.
  • Develop and design new concepts and techniques for increased production efficiencies such as output rate, cost reduction, and improved product quality and manufacturability.
  • Perform engineering, statistical and process analysis on equipment, tooling, materials, and related processes for both existing and new products and technology to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Support the growth and evolution of manufacturing through detailed mechanical drawings and engineering specifications for new and existing equipment and facilities, which comply with all applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
  • Manage and present design proposals for discussion and evaluation with management, customer, and vendors.
  • Operate and maintain CAD equipment and data in an efficient productive manner.
  • Willingness to work on multiple projects and issues concurrently.



Your Credentials:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering preferred.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience as a product engineer, design engineer, or related engineer.
  • Ability to program PLC’s, HMIs, and other process control methods.
  • Working knowledge of low and high voltage electrical systems.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in implementing/installing manufacturing equipment for new products, process improvements, and other high-level initiatives.
  • Ability to operate CAD system
  • Good comprehension of engineering principles, manufacturing techniques, and machinery.
  • Knowledge of rubber, plastic extrusion, and mixing technologies is a plus.
  • Project management skills.
  • Dependable, self-motivated, and able to complete projects on time.



Salary Range: $73,679 - $110,518 commensurate with experience.
