Title: Marketing and Communications Intern within Community Relations Department

Position Type: Part Time Intern

Pay Range: Voluntary/unpaid

Schedule/Hours: Monday-Friday 5-8 hours week

Location: Boulder, Colorado (Remote-anywhere in the US)

Reports to: Community Relations Director

NorthStar Transitions offers adult substance abuse treatment in an outpatient setting, serving Colorado clients both virtually and in our Boulder office. Our Mission at NorthStar is to Empower People to Navigate Real Life Recovery . On top of our comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trauma informed care curriculum, we focus experientially and somatically to teach clients how to disrupt their reflexive pattern of behavior, moving them beyond their addiction. Disrupting this pattern enables us to work through stuck traumas and co-occurring disorders and gives our clients tangible skills to create response instead of their ingrained reaction.

Job Overview

Are you looking to gain valuable experience in the mental health care industry while also developing your sales skills? We are seeking a friendly, motivated and deadline- driven Marketing and Communications Intern to join our Business Developent Team and support our efforts in promoting and selling our services.

The Marketing and Communications Intern will complete all tasks assigned by the Outreach & Admissions Director, which may include conducting market research, identifying business opportunities, managing email campaigns, generating sales leads, making cold calls, and participating in meetings. You should be able to take instruction, but also work unsupervised when required.

To be successful as our Sales Intern, you should be willing to learn as much about NorthStar Transitions as possible and be able to spot opportunities that have been overlooked by others. Being a Sales problem solver who knows the value of building lasting, professional relationships with clients is what we are looking for.

Sales Intern Responsibilities

• Working closely with our Outreach and Admissions Director and completing all allocated tasks.
• Assist the Outreach team in generating leads and identifying potential customers.
• Outreach via cold call and email to potential community partners to schedule meetings for Outreach and Admissions Director.
• Support the development and implementation of sales strategies and tactics.
• Attending and participating in meetings with new community partners.
• Help maintain and update databases and records in SalesForce.
• Reviewing business development performance against targets.
• Identifying potential weaknesses and offering improvement suggestions.
• Prepare presentations and materials for new community partner meetings.
  
  

Requirements

Sales Intern Requirements:

• High school diploma or similar.
• Degree in marketing, business or currently working towards.
• Strong self-motivation.
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team.
• Ability to remain calm in fast-paced environments.
• Superb interpersonal skills.
